Professor Honhon wrote a recommendation for me after I audited her Operations Practicum course in 2008. This was related to supply chain work which my work group completed for Frito Lay North America.

Re: Danielle Brown – MFT Intern Applicant – Academic Letter of Reference
To Whom It May Concern,
I’m pleased to have been asked to provide you with a letter of recommendation for Danielle Brown in
support of her application for a MFT intern position.
I first met Danielle in September 2014 at Pepperdine University’s Master’s program (day format) in Clinical
Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. She was enrolled in my Individual and Family
Development course that Fall and in her first Clinical Practicum class Spring 2015. She also worked with me as
a Teaching Assistant for the development class in Fall 2015. In our small Malibu program, I have had the
opportunity to observe Danielle’s academic and interpersonal skills.
Danielle appears to be a bright, hardworking and outgoing young woman. Enthusiastic about building her
clinical skills and serving her clients and other students, she engaged in her coursework, practicum, and other
extracurricular experiences throughout our two year program. Given her strong performance in my
Developmental course as well as her apparent ability to work well with others, I invited her to serve as a
Teaching Assistant on my teaching team this past fall semester. I was pleased with the support she provided
me and my students, including dealing with challenging student issues and a high level of TA involvement in
course activities, as well as how she coordinated responsibilities with the other TA in the midst of handling
other demands on her time. In our Clinical Practicum class, she similarly demonstrated an active approach to
her learning and growth. She sought consultation when needed, and was generally open and responsive to
feedback. Her case conceptualization skills grew over year, and her oral presentation of a case was well done.
She also received a positive evaluation from her supervisor.
As can be seen from her diverse work and educational experiences detailed on her resume, Danielle has
gained skills that have helped prepare her for the next steps in her training. She is passionate about clinical
work and should be an asset to your staff and clients. If I can provide you with additional information that would
assist your review of Danielle’s application for a MFT Intern position, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Susan R. Hall, J.D., Ph.D.
