It is with enthusiasmand enjoyment that I am writing a recommendation letter for Nadia Yala. She has completed a
Level 2 Occupational Therapy internship with me in our outpatient hand therapy clinic in Bloomfield Hills,
Michigan. She was my first level two student and I have to confess that I was anxious to take a student knowing that
the rhythm of work and study required in an outpatient hand clinic is very intense. I have been an Occupational
Therapist specializing in upper extremity rehab for over 5 years.Prior to that, holding a COTA degree I worked in
the same environment. In addition I have taught an Activity Analysis class four year for Baker College. I hope my
view and opinion of Nadia Yala will be beneficial as you evaluate this exceptional OT.
During the time I have known Nadia, she has shown energetic enthusiasmfor learning and openness to newideas.
The very first day of her internship she was provided with a comprehensive homework for each of the twelve weeks
she was to be my student.In addition she was required to create a project- a therapy tool for the clinic. Every day
and every week, Nadia worked pro-actively on her tasks. In performing these jobs, she has consistently
demonstrated that she is a well-organized, efficient, reliable, and responsible individual. She not only completed the
tasks I required of her for her homework but she enriched her data diligently with pertinent information.
Ms. Yala has demonstrated numerous strengths that Ibelieve will support her in a career as an Occupational
Therapist. She is a highly dedicated person who is able to work under extreme pressure and tight deadlines with
calmness and composure. She has the ability to focus on a task and follow it through diligently until it is properly
completed. Her level of integrity is beyond reproach. Nadia is always punctualand has excellent computer and
verbal communication skills. She is well-respected and liked by both her clients and co-workers.
Ms. Yala also has excellent interpersonal skills. Nadia is a kind, warmhearted, and generous individual who has the
intuitive ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people and situations.All her clients loved to work with
her and continued asking me about her long time after she finished her internship. Some interpersonal skills that set
her apart is her ability to communicate clearly, to take criticism at face value and then try to improve on what was
missing, and to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
