2. Global education is an active learning process based on
the universal values of tolerance, solidarity, equality,
justice, inclusion, co-operation and non-violence.
Global education motivates and empowers people to

6. • Why should educators pay attention to digital technologies?
Technology is an advantage in the classroom for the following reasons:
• Motivates students in their learning due to their enjoyment and ease of use
with various technological mediums.
• Reaches students of various learning styles. Technology use applies to and
compliments Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences.
• Allows students to create and design their own unique products reflective
of their personalities and learning needs/styles.
• Encourages students to manipulate media to construct their own meaning.
• Enables students to easy share their learning with teachers, families and
peers.
• Gives students the chance to explore technological mediums which in
inevitable increase job skills that employers look for in the workforce.

7. Then…
How to prepare elementary graders for the
globalized age by introducing digital learning into their
Classroom?
9. “Thoughtfully planned, such lessons engage students to
a higher degree than traditional teaching and lead to
the development of 21st-century skills such as complex
thinking, creative problem solving, and collaboration.”

11. • How can educators continue to strive for global
education in China by facing the internet control?
12. I think the essence of global education education is to
connect and communicate.
Therefore, we just find other ways to continue our
communication. For instance, we cannot visit Google,
Facebook, Twitter and many other popular websites in
China, but our foreign friends can use QQ, Wechat,
Sinamail, and many other Chinese products to
communicate with us.
• How can educators continue to strive for global education in
China by facing the internet control?
13. I think technology makes our lives easier and
more effective, and I benefit a lot from it. Thus I
want my students’ learning can be benefited from
technology too. Besides this, technology exists
everywhere in people’s lives, there’s no reason for
us to keep digital technology away from our next
generation.
14. As educators, our primary responsibility is to introduce this world
systematically to next generation, who are going to live in this
world and make it a better place.
The cognitive domain of Bloom’s taxonomy contains six categories,
which are knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis,
synthesis, and evaluation (
http://www.utar.edu.my/fegt/file/Revised_Blooms_Info.pdf). The
good news is all these six categories can be better developed by
adding digital tools into their processes. For instance, ESL students
can use Voicethread to practice their oral English; students can use
Timetoast to present their understanding of historical events; or
they can develop their synthesis ability by creating learning
15. In addition to introduce various digital tools to upper elementary
students, we should also teach them related rules in virtual world.
Since adolescents are easily affected, so it’s important for them to
know how to properly apply digital tools in their learning process,
how to protect themselves in the virtual world, and why should they
respect others in the virtual world.
Last but not least, another key element is teachers’ knowledge about
digital tools. Whether students can get greater learning outcomes
from using digital tools largely depends on their teachers’ ability to
introduce proper digital tools correctly.
