Synopsis:
With nearly 8.2 million residents and over 1.6 million fire, non-fire, and medical incidents per year, the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) is the largest municipal fire department in the United States. As a leading institution in the fire service, FDNY established its first Analytics Unit (AU) in June of 2013, charged with reimagining the role of data in operations and policy. Within the first year of operation, the AU has spearheaded 15 projects making New York City safer through machine learning , creating innovative use cases for a smarter operation, promoting public engagement through an open data initiative and building sustainable technical capacity for the fire service. Director of Analytics Jeff Chen will present an overview to analytics operations at FDNY and a strategic vision for data in government.

• INT. WILL’S HOUSE - NIGHT TIME
• Will is alone in the house. He goes to bed and turns off his light.
• FADE OUT:
• FADE IN:
• He wakes up and gets out of bed from a sleepless night and goes to do his morning routine. He opens
the bedroom door and goes to the bathroom. He washes his face and suffers from a hallucination.
• FLASHTO:
• The hallucination ends with a flash and he leaves to go get a drink from the kitchen. As he puts his drink
down, it changes from water to blood and changes back in a flash. He shouts. Shocked, he pours it down
the sink and leaves to try and relax in the living room.
• FLASHTO:
• He sits down and reaches for the remote by the TV. As he sits back down, the hallucination that has
been stalking him from the bathroom is sitting next to him.
• WILL:
• “AAH!”
• He jumps up and the hallucination disappears after he breaks line of sight. He makes a run for the door
but the hallucination is waiting there. He turns and runs for the garden.

• WILL:
• “AAH!”

• EXT. WILL’S GARDEN - MORNING
• He runs to the gate but the hallucination is blocking him. He turns again and the
hallucination is at the house. He panics and starts whispering to himself.
• WILL:
• “No....no...”
• He looks up towards the shed and the hallucination are got even closer.The main
character is going insane and has started holding his head and screaming.
• He pauses and looks at the hallucination as he has got close enough to be grabbed.The
hallucination looks up whilst the main character looks scared and ends.
