The document discusses font, color, size, and animation choices for an opening title sequence (OTS). It states that the font "Trajan Pro" was selected as it looks serious and stands out against black backgrounds. White text will be used to make it stand out. The text size will be medium to small and spaced out to not interfere with the visuals. Fades will be used for transitions to engage the audience and relate to the hallucination theme. Text will appear before and during shots, placed using the rule of thirds to focus viewers without confusing them.
In this article, we're going to reveal some typography tips and tricks that you can use to boost your design skills and impress friends and colleagues. But before you even begin getting into the intricacies of setting type in the likes of InDesign, it's important to know the basics.
2. The font we will use
• At a time, we decided as a group that we
will use the “Informal” Typestyle in bold
writing.
• As time went on and we experimented
more with fonts, we noticed the font
“Trajan Pro” was more suitable for the
OTS as it looked serious and it stands
out from the background on its own.
When mixed with white, the text should
stand out and be appropriate to the OTS.
3. The colour and text we will use
• The colour we will use in the OTS the colour white. We will use this when
necessary to make it stand out against the OTS of the black screen or
background to grab the attention of the audience.
The size of the text in our OTS will be medium sized or small sized and will be spaced
out so it doesn’t get in the way of the character or anything important that may be
happening in the OTS. We may consider medium sized since it seems like the
appropriate size for text in an intro.
4. Animation
• The animation we will use in our OTS to show off our
editing skills and to engage our audience in our OTS
will the ‘fade in, fade out’ transition as it’s more
dramatic and it relates to our OTS because the
hallucination keeps appearing and disappearing.
5. Text
• The text will start before the first shot is shown (production and
distribution company credits) then will continue during the OTS.
• We want to accomplish fitting our text into our OTS, having it
stand out from the OTS, placing it using the rule of thirds and
have our audience focussing on it without it collaborating or
mixing with the OTS and then confusing the audience.
