DRACULA: STORY
Jonathan Harker, a lawyer, goes to Transylvania to help Count Dracula
buy a state in England. While he is at the castle, strange things happen. Dracula
is educated and hospitable (helpful).
After only a few days, Harker realises he is a prisoner in the castle and
Dracula possesses supernatural powers and diabolical ambitions.
One evening, he is attacked by 3 beautiful vampires, but Dracula saves him
because Harker belongs to him. Fearing for his life, Harker tries to escape from
the castle by climbing down the walls.
DRACULA: STORY
Harker’s fiancée (girldfriend), Mina, corresponds with her friend Lucy.
Mina visits Lucy at the seaside town of Whitby. A Russian boat is found on the
shore with no people and its captain dead and a large dog. The only cargo is a
set of 50 boxes full of soil (earth), which come shipped from Dracula’s castle.
Not long after, Lucy becomes pale and ill and she bears 2 tiny red marks
at her throat. Nobody knows what is happening to her. Then, professor Van
Helsing, a doctor, comes to examine Lucy. He covers Lucy with garlic
(traditional charm against vampires) and decorates all the bedroom, but her
mother removes the plants from the room. Then, everybody tries to revive
Lucy performing four blood transfusions.
DRACULA: STORY
One night, a wolf breaks into the house attacking and killing Lucy. Later,
Van Helsing thinks Lucy is a vampire and, finally, they discover that it’s true. So
that, while she’s sleeping, a man drives a stake into her chest (heart), cut off
her head and stuff her mouth with garlic.
Then, Mina starts to change into a vampire. Some men pursue Count
Dracula across land and sea. They arrive the castle, kill the 3 female vampires
and seal the castle with sacred objects. Finally, before Dracula reaches the
castle, they destroy him using knives and turning him into dust.
DRACULA: CURIOSITIES
• Dracula’s preferred victims are women.
• Dracula is in love with Mina because she and her former girlfriend look
alike.
• Being an impaler means piercing the bodies of his prisoners, either dead or
alive, using a big pointed stick.
