Interview with josh hunter

Following the release of his first studio album, we get the chance to have an exclusive interview
with upcoming star, Josh Hunter. His thoughts on the upcoming live tour following the albums
release, through to what's wrong with the mainstream music of today included...

So how does it feel to finally have a studio album released in your name?

“Well I mean, obviously it feels amazing” (laughing) “but yeah, it just feels good to know I've now
produced something which I can call my own and have people pick up and listen to all over the
world.

What would you say the best part about the entire process of producing this album has been?

“Well that's a tough question, the past 12 months for me have gone by so quickly because I've just
had so much fun and met so many amazing people along the way, going to different studios and
even spending some time in America but for me it has to be the end product and the feeling I get
when I walk into a shop and see my album on the shelves. I mean, I just can't describe that feeling
to you man, it's awesome.”

Fairly soon you'll be touring following the albums release. Are you excited to be touring up
and down the country on your own? Up until now you've only played festivals.

“Excited? I'm f***ing ecstatic!” (laughing) “It's something I've been wanting to do since I got into
the industry man, I just can't wait. The festivals were a lot of fun but I mean, people just turn up to
see whoever, at a live show people are turning up for one act, which is you!” (pausing and thinking
about what he wants to say) “Can you imagine, you know, say thousands of people turning up to a
venue to listen to your music, yeah I'd say I'm excited but there's an element of nervousness there,
you don't wanna upset your fans by putting on a s*** show, know what I mean.”

How would you say your life has changed over say, the past 2 years?

“it's been mad, things have just escalated so quickly. I mean, two years ago no one would have ever
recognised my name but now I'm here doing an interview and people actually give a s*** about
what I'm up to” (laughing) “It's kinda weird for me you know, well I mean, it'd be weird for anyone
I suppose. Yeah I'd say my life's changed a lot, I can definitely go out and buy more things I want”
(laughing) “that's a definite benefit to all this!”

Recently you made quite a controversial comment about the mainstream music of today
saying, “It's all bulls***!” What was the reasoning behind the comment?

“I didn't mean to come across quite so harsh” (laughing) “Don't get me wrong I like some of the
mainstream music I hear, I was just talking about how some artists will do anything for the money,
some don't even write their own s***, I mean some of them just sing whatever crap is put in front of
them, where's the passion for music gone? They just churn out whatever the public sees as being
catchy to sell as many records as possible, if your in this industry it should be because you have a
passion for music that's all I was saying.
