An amateur astronomer in Uruguay named Ismael Reyes showed an embassy officer photos he took of a November solar eclipse that appeared to show an unidentified flying object. The embassy checked with the local scientific community and found that Reyes has no formal scientific training. However, the embassy officer who viewed the slides believes Reyes may have photographed an interesting atmospheric phenomenon. Reyes wants to offer the photos to a US government agency or scientific body in hopes of compensation beyond scientific recognition.
