During my time of working in the cafe, my main job role was to serve the customers. However
making sure i greeted each customer as they entered the cafe, ensuring that they have
somewhere to sit. I also had the repsonsibility to make sure that the Cafe was clean and tidy
after each customer, ensuring that everyone left with a smile on their face from the service
given. During my time at working at the Cafe i also had the responsibility to take bill payments
therefore dealing with cash, and having to deal with any problems if they occured.
Farmfoods - Luton Arndale Centre, Luton. (February 2013 - Currently working here)
When i first started with this company i was taken on as a retail assistant. During my time of
being in this position my job included of me doing many different jobs. My main job role was to
serve the customers on the till, this invovled me recieving and giving out money to the
customers ensuring that everything was correct. Being on the till had also boosted up my
communication and customer service skills, greeting each customer as they approached me, and
making sure they all left happy. The other part of my job would be to stock the shelves which
included a variety of dry frozen and chilled goods.
After being with the company a year, i was then promoted to a supervisor, this then gave me
more reposonsibilities within my job. One of my main jobs was to be a role model and a good
influence to my other team members, supporting them in every way that i could and making
sure everyone was safe in the working environment. Becoming a supervisor for the company
had gave me more responsibility of the cash handling side to the job, at the end of each day we
would cash up the tills and bank the money, for security plus to come and collect the following
day, however making sure that all the money was correct. Every 2/3 weeks we would carry out a
stock count, this is done to calculate the shrinkage of the store, each stock count i would help
the team count all of the stock in the shop and i would also do random checks to ensure this was
getting done correctly.
Being a keyholder or the store/safe included me to run my own shifts and to open and close the
store.
On a daily basis i would deal with customer complaints, this could start from over the phone or
directly face to face, i would always offer the best solution to make sure the customer leaves
more than satisfied than dissapointed. I would always listen to what the customer has to say
before i make a decision on what is the best outcome to solve this problem.
