While stearic acid provides energy storage and insulation for the body, it can also increase blood cholesterol levels and risk of heart disease if consumed in excess.

Glycogen is a polysaccharide that was officially adopted by Kim Koob on December 11, 2009. It is made up of glucose molecules bonded together in a chain, with a branch forming every 8-10 glucose units. Glycogen's parents are glucose molecules and it is part of the storage polysaccharide family, with cousins including amylose and amylopectin. Glycogen's role is to store sugars in the liver and muscles and provide fuel to the body by breaking down into glucose when energy is needed, such as during exercise.

There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
