In the park, the swing moves
forward and backward. The
carousel goes around a circle.
The slide goes down straight.
The following are the different
patterns of motion.
1. Linear motion- is a movement
of an object in a straight path.
For example a kid running
forward in a straight line is
doing a linear motion.
2. Circular motion- is a
movement of object in circle or
rotation path.
For example, a moving Ferris
wheel is moving in a circular
path, which means the
movement is in circle.
3. Zigzag motion- is a motion in
which the path is making sharp

The pattern below shows how the
motion of a school bus when it
moves in a zigzag path.
This is how the train moves in a
railway going south. It follows a
straight path.
This is how the seesaw moves.
Observe the arrows where it is
pointing at.
The iron moves forward and
backward when you are pressing
the clothes.
Here are the steps in making a
spinning wheel.
a. Get a round bowl and trace
the shape
in the cardboard.
b. Cut the circle in the
cardboard. Be
careful in handling the scissors.
c. Color and designed it as you
wish.
d. Put the pushpin in the
middle part.
e. Insert the paper clip in the
middle of the cardboard and
pushpin.
f. Make sure not to push it
through completely.
g. Make sure there is a small
gap to allow the paper clip to
spin freely.
h. Turn the spinner over. Now
angles.
For example, a bus travelling in
a zigzag road.
4. Up and down motion- is a
motion showing upward and
downward or alternate
movement.
For example, sitting and playing
in a seesaw. It is moving in an up
and down path.
Another example is an elevator
going up and down.
5. Back and forth motion- is a
motion repeatedly moving in
one direction and then in an
opposite direction.
For example an old woman
sitting on a rocking chair. The
back and forth motion of
the rocking chair creates a back
and forth path.
Another example is swinging

There are so many ways in which things move. Imagine that you are playing the pin wheel. You move the blade of the wheel and observed that it is moving in a circular path. This is how the motion path of the pin wheel looks like. HOW TO MAKE A HOMEMADE SPINNING WHEEL? What you need: • Cardboard • Crayons • Paper clip • A round bowl for creating circle • Push pin D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills. #1 In the park, the swing moves forward and backward. The carousel goes around a circle. The slide goes down straight. The following are the different patterns of motion. 1. Linear motion- is a movement of an object in a straight path. For example a kid running forward in a straight line is doing a linear motion. 2. Circular motion- is a movement of object in circle or rotation path. For example, a moving Ferris wheel is moving in a circular path, which means the movement is in circle. 3. Zigzag motion- is a motion in which the path is making sharp In the park, the swing moves forward and backward. 3. Zigzag motion- is a motion in which the path is making sharp The pattern below shows how the motion of a school bus when it moves in a zigzag path. This is how the train moves in a railway going south. It follows a straight path. This is how the seesaw moves. Observe the arrows where it is pointing at.
