Tell: The process of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is integral in
enabling individuals to develop healthy identities, manage emotions,
achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others,
establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and
caring decisions.
Ask: Why are your past experiences important?
Tell: Today, you are going to make your own book with the theme: lives during
the pandemic

1. Write freely about your experiences/stories during the pandemic.
2. By group (optional) collect the write-ups of your classmates and make a
book. You can be creative with your designs.
3.Sit in a circle and ask if anyone would like to share his/her/their stories. Let
each learner present the book, share its title, and explain it.

Making Masks
Psychosocial Competency: Self-awareness and Self-expression
1. List down these different emotions on a piece of paper.
2. Which feelings on the list you are comfortable sharing with others?
Draw and decorate the front of your masks to represent these feelings.
3. Flip your masks and draw/decorate on the inside to represent the
feelings that you would rather keep to yourself.
4. Show your mask and share why/how it represents your feelings for the
day. You have the option to choose whether you would like to talk about
both sides of the mask or the front side only.

Synthesis Questions and Points:
1. What was it like to draw your feelings on your masks?
2. What do you notice about the feelings on the front and on 3. the inside

3. What difference did you feel while you were decorating the front part
of your mask, compared to the back part of your mask?
4. What feelings did we see in our masks today?
5. Do you notice any similarities / common emotions?
6. What was it like to see your classmates’ masks?
7. What was it like wearing your mask and acting out your feelings? (if
role plays were done)
8. What would help you feel safe telling others about how you feel?
