Dimensions Film would be a suitable media institution to distribute the film because: 1) Over the past 7 years, Dimensions has distributed many successful horror movies, including Scream 4 which grossed $18.6 million in the US and £2 million in the UK on its opening weekend. 2) The films distributed, such as Scream, have similarities to the film in terms of teenage characters alone at night which builds vulnerability. 3) Dimensions has a track record of distributing films in the same genre that have achieved good box office success on their opening weekends.

so of media products for the consumption of the public, or the
target audience of that product.

2. I have chosen to look at the film ‘scream (1996)’ to back up my argument of which
media institute might distribute my movie and why.

4. I think that this media institution would distribute my because they have distributed
many film of the same genre as mine and they have all been successful with their
opening weekend gross.
Some of the films that Dimensions have distributed have some similarities to my film:
For example in the opening sequence for Scream there is a teenage girl on the phone
waiting for someone to join them. In both opening sequences it is evidently night time
and they are both alone.
This makes them both look vulnerable and possible subject to be the victims of the
film.
In the opening sequence for my film there is also a teenage girl on the phone waiting
for someone to join them.
Although in Scream the other person she is waiting for is not the same person on the
phone, where as in my opening sequence the person on the phone is the same person
she is waiting to meet.
