Mpala Research Centre is a Kenyan NGO that facilitates human-wildlife coexistence and improves human livelihoods through education, outreach, and science-based conservation research. It hosts over 100 researchers annually from over 40 institutions who conduct ecological and economic studies. Mpala provides knowledge to local communities about wildlife populations, land and ranch management, emerging diseases, invasive species control, and environmental conditions to support sustainable land use. The research also provides economic benefits to over 80 local businesses and $2.25 million to the local economy each year.
