The Mpala Long-term Monitoring Plot is an 89-hectare research area located at the Mpala Wildlife Foundation in Kenya. It involves partnerships between the Centre for Tropical Forest Science, Smithsonian Institution, Kenya Wildlife Service, and National Museums of Kenya. The plot contains over 93,000 individually tagged trees across different soil and vegetation types, and provides long-term data to further understanding of forest ecosystems, climate change impacts, and inform sustainable management policies.
