Although not at the top of the league in Asia Pacific, ICT Index (IDI ranking) has proved that Thailand has the highest broadband development in the world, having climbed 34 places from 105 in 2012 to 71 in 2014. Like the rest of the globe, the proliferation of internet connected devices has transformed the lives of Thais turning us into very social human beings. While digital economy is the catalyst to economic growth and socio-economic development, it can also play a pivotal role in a country's come back from crisis and analysis from various research has concluded that developing countries stand to gain more from mobile broadband and digital economy. Nevertheless, the role of a regulator in driving a digital ecosystem requires extensive planning in creating an agile but flexible goals making room for new technological advancements and innovation to lead digital economy in the coming future. This presentation is just phase 1, introducing mobile broadband as a part of digital economy, and I have also provided the kind of positive impact we can see on Thailand's economy and ICT index ranking in the coming future.
