This document provides illustrations for a CD case including a front cover, back cover, inside cover, and CD cover. The front and back covers as well as the inside and CD cover are labeled and shown from a realistic view.
This document analyzes three music digipaks from The Beatles, Bon Jovi, and Foo Fighters. Each digipak contains 1 CD and 1 DVD of the artist's greatest hits, with pictures of the band on the front and track listings on the sides. The analysis finds that digipaks follow conventions like including band information, contents, and vinyl-style CDs. It was decided that the new digipak will also feature 1 CD and DVD, band pictures on the front and back, and simplistic design based on audience research.
The document summarizes how the media product uses and develops conventions of real media products. For the music video, it matches the visuals to the pace and lyrics of the song, including lip syncing, location changes with the music, and reversed footage. Simple shots with many changes and retro effects were used, along with cloning and hand drawing techniques. The website was inspired by real band websites, including a GIF background and tabs. While the platform Wix is not typically used for real bands, the end product looked professional. The album was influenced by Metronomy's retro style, including the band name, title, and track listing as is common for vinyl records. A polaroid photo provided more details in a retro style
1) The student was tasked with creating a music video, digipak, and magazine advert for a fictional artist.
2) They researched existing digipaks to understand conventions before designing their own, which included a front cover, back cover, two CD covers, and two extra panels.
3) Similarities between the digipak and video included using the artist's logo, color scheme, and settings from the digipak photoshoot. This helped promote a consistent image and genre for the fictional artist.
The document discusses conventions used in the media product's music video, digipak, and magazine advert.
For the music video, conventions of setting and close-ups from indie rock music videos are developed and used. The setting draws from common locations like stages and recording studios, and close-ups highlight instruments and establish mood.
Conventions of framing are used and developed for the digipak. Photos frame the band centered with the lead singer standing out, and the track list challenges a plain format.
Hierarchy conventions are followed in the magazine advert to draw attention. The band name is emphasized as the main selling point, similar to other artists' ads. Conventions across media are analyzed and applied intentionally
The document discusses how the media product uses, develops, and challenges forms and conventions of real media products. It uses conventions such as cutting shots on the beat of the music, including a narrative storyline, and employing common mise-en-scene elements like causal outfits and music production equipment. It slightly develops conventions by sometimes cutting shots on every 2 or 4 beats rather than a strict pattern. It challenges conventions by having a complete narrative structure instead of also including performance shots, and having visuals that don't closely correspond to the lyrics due to their lack of clarity.
In this document, the media product uses and develops conventions of real music videos and album packaging in several ways:
1) The music video features the band performing, typical band shot compositions, and casual clothing like in real Weezer videos.
2) Editing techniques like split screens are used conventionally and reference other Weezer videos.
3) The album advertising features the cover, reviews, and company logos typically included.
4) The digipack layout, fold style, song listings, and CD design develop conventions seen in other real products to look authentic.
5) One potential challenge is an unconventional way of placing extra disks, otherwise conventions are closely followed.
The document discusses how the media product, a music video for the song "Undone - The Sweater Song" by Weezer, adheres to conventions of real music videos and the alternative rock genre. It focuses on visual and editing elements that mimic other Weezer and alternative rock music videos, as well as how it relates the lyrics to the visuals literally. The document also summarizes how the accompanying digital packaging and magazine advertisement follow conventions of existing media formats to appear authentic.
This document summarizes the conventions used in rock and indie music videos. It discusses how the student's music video incorporates many of these conventions, including close-ups of band members, shots showing the whole band performing, casual clothing, dim lighting that creates shadows, and a plain background setting. It also discusses how the student applied similar conventions to the design of their digipak and magazine advertisement for consistency across the media products.

The promotional package for Royal Blood includes a music video, digipak, and magazine advertisement.
In the music video, the group studied camera work theory and analyzed other music videos to incorporate conventions like close-ups of both band members. Locations were chosen to fit the narrative and genre conventions of showing the band's live performance. Costumes and instruments were used to portray the band accurately. Editing used rhythmic cutting and effects like black and white continued the band's style.
Research of other digipaks informed the design process to include common conventions like layout, two disks of content, and live photo on the back. The advertisement replicated the digipak art and included key information audiences expect to see promoted
A digipack conventionally includes images of the artist or band, their name and album title, and a list of songs. It has a simple, consistent background color and features that identify the artist's brand, making the contents easily identifiable.
This document provides instructions for using different photo frame templates in PowerPoint, including rectangle, rounded corners, square, rectangular bevelled, rounded corners bevelled, and rounded corners bevel shadow frames. It notes that the colors of the frames can be changed and pictures can be placed behind the frames. It also provides a website for more free PowerPoint templates.
1) The document discusses a student's task to create a music video, album digipak, and magazine advertisement for a fictional artist as part of a class project.
2) The student researched existing digipaks to help model their own digipak, which included a front and back cover along with interior pages.
3) Similarities between the student's digipak and the music video they created include using the artist's logo, similar color schemes, and depicting the artist in similar settings shown on the digipak.
The document discusses two draft designs for a CD back insert and record company logo. The first design included typical elements like a song list, artist and album names, and record company information. The second design improved on the first by adding websites, social media information, and track timings. It also redesigned the record company logo to be simpler and less pixelated.
The document discusses the conventions of metalcore music videos that were considered when creating a music video for the band FEAR THE UNKNOWN. It identifies six typical conventions: 1) demonstrating genre characteristics 2) relationship between music and visuals 3) relationship between visuals and lyrics 4) close-ups of artists 5) reference to looking 6) intersexual reference. The document then explains how the video challenges some conventions through its lighting, costumes, and structure while developing others through its camera shots, location/setting, props, and editing.
This document provides a brief overview of the parts of a compact disc, including the front cover, inside booklet, disc, and back page. The front cover contains identifying information about the artist and album. The inside booklet includes lyrics, credits, and other details. The disc itself contains the recorded music that can be played. The back page often lists track listings and other disc details.
The brand concept for the album, music video, and website was based around a natural theme to fit with the indie/alternative rock genre of the music. Nature shots and scenic backgrounds were used throughout to maintain continuity. The theme was inspired by lyrics about the changing world and destruction of nature. To link the different media, the same sunset image was used for the album cover and website background, along with similar fonts and an emphasis on outdoor nature photos. The goal was to create a consistent theme while making the content visually appealing and not boring.
This document summarizes the planning and production process for a music promo portfolio. It discusses choosing a song, developing characters and ideas, researching genres and artists, creating storyboards, shooting at locations, and plans for packaging and websites. Throughout the process, ideas were refined, challenges arose in scheduling performers and locations, and research helped inform creative decisions.
The document summarizes kinetics of drug interactions. It defines drug interactions as modifications of one drug's effects by administration of another drug. It describes different types of interactions like drug-drug, drug-food, drug-herbal etc. It discusses factors contributing to interactions like plasma protein binding, enzymes induction or inhibition. It provides examples of interactions affecting absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs.
This document provides an overview of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). It defines ARDS and discusses its causes, pathophysiology, diagnosis, incidence, prognosis and long-term outcomes. Treatment focuses on supportive care including mechanical ventilation with low tidal volumes, conservative fluid management, prone positioning and other strategies to improve oxygenation. Corticosteroids are not recommended for treatment due to lack of proven benefit. With treatment, prognosis depends on the underlying cause, but many ARDS survivors can expect to return to normal lifestyles within a year.
Ricoh helps Siemens drive efficiency and sustainabilitySatyAnandDigital
Ricoh has successfully helped Siemens to save 30% in costs, amounting to over Rs. 42 lakh a year. Siemens also experienced a significant reduction in its asset base and notable improvements in its printing processes.
Siemens has now decided to continually expand its relationship with Ricoh by including other subsidiaries into the plan. Using Ricoh’s proven model, Siemens will continue to control functions such as helpdesk, break/fix, supplies management, asset management, and proactive device management for all Ricoh and non-Ricoh devices in the company’s offices nationally.
Says Satish Kotgire, “Ricoh’s technology, knowledge, and process deliver value to our business units, cost savings to IT, and the ability to re-invest those savings in IT innovation.”

The document outlines a master plan for an academic block that includes formal and informal interaction spaces. Formal interaction takes place in planned settings like classrooms, while informal interaction occurs spontaneously in outdoor common areas. Visual connections between buildings are also an important part of the campus design, with focal points forming the heart without looking unplanned. Key interaction spaces, buildings, and participants are named.
This document provides feedback on a rough draft of a digipak. It notes that the digipak shows professionalism through good blending of content and a perceivable masthead. It follows some conventions like including a barcode and song listing. However, the document suggests the mise-en-scene could better emphasize the album's genre, as the dress code and dark color scheme are more appropriate for urban and rock genres respectively and could mislead the audience. Improving elements like the visual style could enhance how clearly the digipak communicates its intended genre.
This document provides feedback on a rough draft design for a digipak album cover. It notes that the design shows professionalism through good color blending and a perceivable masthead. However, the document also suggests that the design could better emphasize the electronic dance music genre by adjusting the dress code depicted, which seems too urban, and lightening the dark color scheme, which slightly implies a rock genre. Clarifying the genre could prevent misleading the intended audience.
The document discusses several potential filming locations for scenes in a music video, including a graffiti area, art department room, park, bedrooms representing masculinity and femininity, living room, school hallway, and Leicester Square. Each location is proposed to suit different scenes based on the aesthetics, available space, and potential restrictions. Safety considerations are mentioned for locations near roads or requiring equipment.

Each location is proposed to suit different scenes based on the aesthetics, available space, and potential restrictions. Safety considerations are mentioned for locations near roads or requiring equipment.
This document contains 107 scenes for a film production. Each scene lists the time, shot description, location, and people needed. The scenes involve various shots - including close-ups, medium shots, long shots - of the main female and male leads, sometimes individually and sometimes together, in different locations like a school building, art room, director's house, and overpass near a Hollywood bowl. The shots include techniques like panning, tilting, tracking, and rule of thirds compositions.
The document discusses semiotics in three music videos:
1) BTS' "Spring Day" uses shoes tied in tree branches to symbolize someone who has died in the lyrics. This symbolizes the spirit returning to walk closer to heaven.
2) SUD's "Sila" uses a cigarette passed between two people as a symbolic goodbye kiss to end their secret relationship, as well as representing the danger and sins of the relationship.
3) Pharrell Williams' "Happy" features a cat design on a shirt iconically, simply representing a cute design rather than symbolizing something else.
The document discusses plans for scenes in a music video that are inspired by the anime film "Kimi no Nawa". It describes taking shots of a model drawing and finding their illustration improved to portray an exchange. Dark clothing will signify the original body owner, while pink will mean the male lead took over the female body. A scene on a bridge with two angled suspenders will place the models on each side to suggest they are in the same area but cannot meet, like parallel lines. Looking back and finding no one there confirms they cannot see each other.
Makoto Shinkai's animated film Your Name will receive a limited UK cinema release. The film has been a huge commercial success in Japan, grossing over $350 million worldwide. UK audiences will have the chance to see the film dubbed in English at selected Vue cinemas later this year.
This document contains a shooting script that outlines 107 scenes for a film production. Each scene provides the day/time, shot description, location, and people needed. The majority of scenes involve a female lead and require only the lead actor and production crew. Many scenes take place outside school buildings or in art rooms and involve medium close-ups, long takes, and different camera angles like high angles or rule of thirds compositions.
The document summarizes the results of a survey about music video preferences of the target audience, who are mostly 17-18 years old. Key findings include that the target audience prefers a combination of narrative and concept in music videos, with a focus on editing and storyline. They also feel loneliness when alone and like to see themselves represented. Based on this, the creator plans to make their music video have fantasy elements, focus on editing, and isolate the main character to portray loneliness. They will upload the final video to YouTube to reach a wide global audience.
Richard Dyer developed the star persona theory which argues that audiences are influenced by their perceptions of stars based on constructed images rather than the actual person. A key difference between pop performers and pop stars is that pop stars develop broader cultural impacts and identities beyond their music over time. Stars are constructed images made of various media rather than real people, as evidenced by reality shows like The X Factor that style contestants to match audience and record label expectations. K-pop group Twice is given a cute, girlish persona through their performances and videos, though their choreographer altered a dance to be more mature but it did not fit their constructed image.
Richard Dyer developed the star persona theory which argues that audiences are influenced by their perceptions of stars formed through various media representations. A key aspect is that stars have identities beyond their music careers that form cultural impacts and brand awareness. Once this level of recognition is achieved, stars can remain significant even after periods away from performing. A star is essentially a constructed image rather than the real person, built from marketing materials and grooming on shows like The X Factor to fulfill audience and industry expectations.
The document discusses creating a mood board of female artists to develop a fictional character that counters stereotypes. It aims to apply Richard Dyer's Star Theory to create a memorable persona. For example, the character Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad confidently strips her clothing in front of others not to be seductive but due to child-like behavior of doing what she wants. Eccentric behaviors from these artists can help the fictional character stand out and be easily remembered by audiences.
Chiene Kim is a 18-year-old South Korean pop singer and actress born in Daegu, South Korea. She has found success both as an actress appearing in films like Deadpool and Star Wars as well as a singer, with her debut album 'TWICE' selling over a million copies in just 9 months. Described by her manager PSY as carefree and unique, Chiene got her start in the entertainment industry in 2012 when she was discovered by YG Entertainment while performing in a theatre in Seoul.
The document discusses the results of a questionnaire about features that appeal in music videos. It finds that song and high definition quality were the most impactful features, with 9 votes each. The conclusion is that the creator should focus on these features by choosing a popular song, upgrading their PC for 1080p rendering, and using a high-quality camera. Effects, transitions, and color correction received 7 votes and were the second most appealing feature. The creator plans to include varied shots and effects, and use a cold blue color filter to symbolize loss. Most respondents rated the narrative above 4. The conclusion recommends further improving the narrative based on feedback.
1) The document is an audience questionnaire for a media studies class that asks students about their favorite music videos and what attracts them to music videos.
2) It then provides the respondent's ideas for a narrative for the music video for the song "Faded" by Alan Walker, which is inspired by the Japanese animation "Kimi No Nawa" and involves a girl and boy exchanging bodies and trying to find each other after the exchanges stop.
3) The respondent is asking for feedback on their proposed narrative and ideas to improve it, as well as any location or prop suggestions for the music video.
A student named Vren Daphnie Marasigan wrote a letter to Sony Music Entertainment Sweden AB requesting permission to use Alan Walker's song "Faded" for an A-level Media Studies project which will include a music video, album, and magazine advert that will only be viewed by her class, teacher, and exam moderator for educational purposes. The letter asks Sony Music to sign and date the bottom of the letter to grant permission for educational use of the song.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
