relaxed which I think is what the artist wants her
audience to feel when listening to her music.

relaxing theme of the Digipak, there are smooth water
colours. The text ‘Ellie Goulding’ is in a bigger and
bolder font then the title of the album which is ‘Bright
Lights’. This is because the artist is the branding
identity of the album, she is the selling point, so her
name is in bold as it implies it is the most important
thing on the front cover.
• The text on the back of the cover is the same front
that has been used throughout the whole Digipak.
• The colours used on the cover are the same colours
used on the front cover, there are also bright lights in
the back ground which connotes the title of the
album, which is ‘Bright Lights’.

2. • As several songs in this album are about violence
and death, the artist uses a sad facial expression
to show the emotion. She is known for her pale
complexion and bright ginger hair which has
been toned down for this album cover in order
to not deflect any attention for the artistic
imagery. The prop of lungs cleverly placed is in
reference to the song title. The stylish
handwriting font reflects her person a whilst
giving the album a personal touch.
• The back of the album includes an illustration
of a pair of lungs in style of a diagram, the
plain background allow the focus to mainly be
on the image, this album allows the common
convention of a cd cover as names tracks are
displayed in sequential order and includes a
website that the buyer can go to get more
information about the tour date, album

The album gives the impression of a stylish and up to date
band, evidence for this is that the designe uses the bright
colours and has an up to date stylish appearance which is
noticeable and would attract the audience.

created by colour scheme of spray paints and electric neon
colour tones which would be eye catching to the audience.
The overall background of the Digipak shows a clear
reference to graffiti this suggests that as the band has an
alternative rock genre that the are trying to relate to the
graffiti messy stereotypes of teenagers.
The album name ‘mylo xyloto’ is written vey large which stands
out again with the busy background.
• The retro theme is shown again on the back cover of the
'Mylo xyloto' album. The information shown includes a list
of the songs on the new album such as charlie
brown, which are shown in the same bubble style font as
the masthead on the front cover.
