3. How does it work? ( part 2) Begins in your mouth , with teeth and saliva, you can now swallow food Goes through the esophagus. Gastric juices turn it into a mushy mixture. Now, it’s in our Intestines, ready to use.
4. Mouth where all the process starts, needs help with teeth and saliva to swallow food. Enzymes in your mouth starts process of digestion.
5. Pharynx both of the food and air moves through it, is partly both Respiratory and Digestive System.
6. Esophagus is a soft muscular tube. helps transporting food from the Pharynx to the stomach.
7. Liver is the body’s largest internal organ. The liver does many jobs, in which includes storing energy and help the body to get rid off toxins ( poisons).
8. Small Intestine called small because of it’s width, not length. actually larger than the large intestine! helps extract vitamins and minerals from food . large and small intestine forms one continuous tube.
9. Large Intestine consists of 3 different parts; the cecum, colon and rectum. food gets separated into solid or liquid. Liquid becomes urine, solid becomes feces. You can now excrete it in the toilet.
10. Pancreas takes hormones ( including insulin) to regulate blood glucose level. also helps break down food in the intestines.
