The Digestive System<br />Important because helps break down food we eat, gets nutrition and vitamins body needs. <br />When begin to eat saliva breaks down the food. <br />When swallowed it goes through esophagus then goes to stomach. <br />When it pass to small intestine it is a mushy substance.<br />After some stuff goes to large intestine and some becomes wastes.<br />
  3. 3. Mouth<br />This is where the digestion starts.<br />Enzymes is created when starting digestion.<br />Saliva creates chemicals to help break down the food.<br />
  4. 4. Esophagus<br />Tube connects to the mouth and stomach.<br />food goes to first in digestive system.<br />Food goes through the esophagus not windpipe.<br />
  5. 5. Stomach<br />A organ that mixes all the food.<br />Turn the food into liquid substance.<br />It stores food you have eaten.<br />
  6. 6. Liver<br />Large organ cleans body and get rid of poisons.<br />Sends juice to different parts of body.<br /> Juice from liver called bile helps absorb fats into bloodstream.<br />
  7. 7. Pancreas<br /> It helps the body breaks down food.<br />It grinds the food up even more.<br />Makes juice and helps digest fats and protein. <br />
  8. 8. Small intestine<br />A tube that pass the foods to the large intestine.<br />Absorb all the vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.<br />Breaks food down even more and thinner and more watery. <br />
  9. 9. Large intestine<br />Decides to keep or get rid of the food.<br />Pushes poop to the rectum.<br />Intestinal wall absorbs the nutrition .<br />
