Chapter 2 reporter

Difference between narrative and news.
- 1. NARRATIVE: 1) Narrative is when the author is narrating a story or part of a story. 2) Usually, it has introduction, body and its conclusion 3) It let readers create their own imagination. It may be exact as what the author wants to express or not. 4) Narrative is the experience of the narrator in his own words whereas descriptive story is analysis of any topic desired. 5) Narrative writing involves the writer's personal experience
- 2. 6) Narrative Writing on the other hand, relates a series of events. 7) Narrative means by which media producers shape and control the flow of information to an audience. 8) Plays an important role in how we grow up. 9) Hepls us makes sence of the world. 10) Helps us by telling how we form our social lives.
- 3. NEWS: 1) News is information about current events. 2) News is based on actual occurrences, situations, thoughts and ideas. 3) All facts are not news 4) Journalist cant write fiction or makeup things that didn’t happen. 5) News is primarily about people, what they say and do.
- 4. 6) News is not necessarily a report of a recent event, as started in most dictionaries. 7) There are various sources of news . You can hear it on the radio, view it on a television channel, read it in a newspaper . 8) Convention of news writing includes the 5w’s and inverted pyramid. 9) The news must be current to be relevant. It must affect the people now. 10)Reporting the news is public service.
