This document summarizes the status and issues with two UPS systems - UPS 8 and UPS 6. It provides details on the basic configuration of each, including their load capacity and modules. 3. WHAT IS UPS ?
• Uninterruptible power source is an electrical apparatus
that provides emergency power to a load when the
input power source, typically mains power, fails.
• In our industry ups is used to give the auxiliary supply
sinter machine ,soaking machine ,pt machine , row
draw etc.
• Whenever main supply is stop our ups system provides
6MVA of power to system(critical load ) for 15min .

7. CURRENT STATUS
• Ups 6

 totally shut down
 Modules are removed
 Batteries from ups 6 banks are removed

 Batteries have high internal resistance

8. PROBLEMS OCCURRED DUE TO UPS(COMPLAINS)

9. DATA ANALYSIS
• Ups 8(according to the scada 1 min data)
 Fault date 30 jan 2016 time 1:15 to 1:18
 Power loss in KVA 66234
 Phase voltage 416 (constant through out the fault time)
 Phase current 182(at fault time current drop )

10. CHANGES WE DID
• Ups 8
IGBT changed on 31 jan
Modules changed
Power supply board, monitor board
• Ups 6
All working modules are removed and shifted to
the workable ups

11. WHAT WE CAN DO
• As there r all the electronic circuit so for that hire a
electronic circuit expert and check the monitoring board
in the ups
• if possible then buy the new IGBT set and replace it to
the old one
• Battery checking and replacement for reliability of ups
operation
• Replacement of ups directly(which cost more)
