The XEB Hybrid Energy Storage system combines a flywheel energy storage system with batteries to provide backup power during outages. During short power disruptions, the flywheel provides enough energy to ride through the event without using the batteries. For longer outages, the system intelligently uses the batteries to provide continuous power to critical loads. The system monitors parameters of the flywheel and batteries to provide status updates. It is available in configurations that can provide backup power from 80kW to 450kW for minimum runtimes of 1.8 to 5 seconds.
