The Tester Role in the Agile Release TrainTechWell
In a classical agile team, testers and developers work together on feature teams to produce functioning software in each sprint. As enterprises scale up their agile adoption, the agile feature teams must work in concert with many other teams, such as component teams and system teams. They may find that they need to interact with a number of technical experts and domain experts—DBAs, architects, user experience experts, business analysts, and others—who form part of the supporting cast. Together, these teams and individuals make up the “team of teams,” often known as the release train. Testers play a key role in each of these teams along the way. Malcolm Isaacs explores each of these teams, their functions, and their interactions with the rest of the enterprise from the perspective of the tester. He discusses testing tools and techniques that testers in each of these enterprise teams can leverage to increase overall quality.

Embedded systems development can benefit from Agile software development. This paper and presentation tells you about why you should care, what problems Agile is designed to solve and what agile is. This topic has evolved over the years. I started presenting it in 2004 (or maybe earlier) at the Embedded Systems Conference.

Looking at the full API Product Lifecycle, from defining an API and implementing the API, to launching with a solid developer site and experience, let’s see the newest tools - and potentially upcoming opportunities - to automate the creation of a solid developer experience.
Creating a successful API requires a proper process from concept and design, through development, and into ongoing maintenance and responsive developer support. As developer expectations for better-quality APIs increase, tools have made it easier to implement this well. Thanks to standards like OpenAPIs, it’s easier to create a quality API, developer site, and overall experience. Many of us create API documentation or code libraries automatically from an OpenAPI spec, but there’s a lot more coming along to make our lives easier, and to make our APIs look better. In reviewing the full API Product Lifecycle to design an API people will use, let’s see the newest tools - and potentially upcoming opportunities - to better automate the creation of a compelling developer program.

From 0 to DevOps in 80 Days
Link to the webinar replay: https://info.dynatrace.com/apm_dtm_ops_17q3_wc_from_enterprise_tocloud_native_na_registration.html
“Innovate or die” may sound extreme, but it’s the only way to thrive in today’s ever competitive market. Bernd Greifeneder, CTO of Dynatrace, wanted to ensure that the company was relevant 5 years from now so he formed an internal incubator with one goal: transform Dynatrace into a Cloud Native DevOps organization.
The incubator focused on what the company needed to do in order to integrate nascent cloud technologies so that they wouldn’t be left in the dust when the inevitable tipping point to cloud arrives. Transforming into a cloud native company would allow for rapid release cycles and provide an embedded feedback loop.
The Results: Dynatrace now has a 99.998% availability of SaaS Service and can deploy changes within an hour if necessary. In parallel, a new SaaS and managed offering is released every 2 weeks with 170 production updates per day.
Watch this recorded webinar as Bernd Greifeneder shares the lessons learned moving Dynatrace from an on-prem company to one that is cloud native.
Bernd discusses:
• The driving factors that led to the transformation
• The goals that were set back in 2011 towards the engineering team
• How to sell such a transformation project in a large enterprise organization
• How to support this multi-year project from top down without impacting regular operations
• What's next on the innovator's mind

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

LF Energy Webinar: Electrical Grid Modelling and Simulation Through PowSyBl -...DanBrown980551
Do you want to learn how to model and simulate an electrical network from scratch in under an hour?
Then welcome to this PowSyBl workshop, hosted by Rte, the French Transmission System Operator (TSO)!
During the webinar, you will discover the PowSyBl ecosystem as well as handle and study an electrical network through an interactive Python notebook.
PowSyBl is an open source project hosted by LF Energy, which offers a comprehensive set of features for electrical grid modelling and simulation. Among other advanced features, PowSyBl provides:
- A fully editable and extendable library for grid component modelling;
- Visualization tools to display your network;
- Grid simulation tools, such as power flows, security analyses (with or without remedial actions) and sensitivity analyses;
The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.
What you will learn during the webinar:
- For beginners: discover PowSyBl's functionalities through a quick general presentation and the notebook, without needing any expert coding skills;
- For advanced developers: master the skills to efficiently apply PowSyBl functionalities to your real-world scenarios.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Abstract
DevOps plays a vital role in mobile projects to meet buzz word “faster time to the market”
and “faster reaction to the customer” before they ask. It’s a big challenge in mobility as
there are multiple mobile operating systems vs multiple OS version in mobile ecosystem.
How do we address below challenges?
Every three days a new mobile manufacturing company brings new mobiles into
market
Building mobile apps as fast as with market expectation
Testing mobile app on multiple OS vs multiple OS versions
Distributing app and notification to stakeholders
Monitoring the app statistics, performance and crash analytics
This paper talks about addressing the challenges with Mobile DevOps process which
involves setting the environment, development, testing, build, distributing app and
monitoring the app with continuous integration, continuous deployment and
continuous delivery using Microsoft Technology.
