This document discusses trends in application development and provides an overview of two labs on microservices and DevOps. The labs focus on using application containers in a cloud service based on Docker. They demonstrate how to configure a repository, build, and deployment processes and verify the build and deployment process by cloning a source code repository, making changes, and committing and pushing the code. Links are provided to documentation for more details on the labs and material.
