1. Development hell limited is an extremely small and independent
publishing company.
They are based in London and have a very small team of specialist
editors. This means they will have great experience within the dance and
club music magazine industry as they have solely worked on dance music
products including magazines and apps. This means that if development
hell limited produced my magazine they would know the target audience
very well and therefore know exactly how to make the magazine appeal to
them making them a good choice for the magazine.
As the publishing company is very small it also means that there would
be a very strong relationship between the audience and the editors as the
audience reading the magazine could directly contact the editors and help
improve the magazine by giving opinions etc.
However there would be negatives if development hell limited published
my magazine, the first being that as development hell limited is a very
small company there would be little advertisement for the magazine.
However if someone such as Bauer published the magazine, who are a
much larger company, there would be much more advertisement and
interest from the public. This is because Bauer are already a wellestablished publisher and therefore people would know if they are
launching a new magazine there would be much more “hype” and
excitement towards the release of the magazine, thus more of the target
audience would know about the magazine and therefore the magazine
may receive more sales.
A company like Bauer also has much more experience as they have been
publishing magazines for a longer period of time and therefore will have
greater knowledge in how to make the magazine successful.
They also have a great range of magazines and therefore know how to
make a magazine appeal to a very specific audience allowing the
magazine to truly be exclusive to the target reader.
However due to development hell limited having experience with the target
audience for a dance/club magazine I believe they would be the best publisher
to have publish my magazine. The fact they are very small, independent
company allows me to have direct contact with all the editors so that the
magazine can be published the way I and the target audience want it to. As they
are independent it also means the magazine will be more about the readers of

2. the magazine rather than about making the most profitable magazine, this will
appeal to the fans and allow greater depth and work go into the magazine being
the best it can be.
