Rockin the RiverfrontOne business owner said, “Overall very well attended event. Too many people. Location was far and long lines to get to name tags.”  She also stated, “Not a member of the DFC. Seems much like pay to play. I am affiliated with Asia Pacific Chamber that is why I attended.”Ray Moulden stated, “400 people, food was great, great networking, and lots of tables with sponsorships.”
How did I find these answers?Twitter: I asked if anyone was a member of the DRC or knew someone involved in the Chamber.Also did a Twitter search and found them and asked them questions to find out what the problems were and what the benefits are.I also posted the same questions on Linked In and Facebook to where I found two people who I connected with on some levels.Ray Moulden, Chamber Ambassador and Lisa Swiftney’s name came up quite a few times.Sarah Hubbard sent me to job posting for the Interactive Marketing Coordinator.
Why is this important to you?Problem solver: I have a large network of business professionals who are active in their community.Strategy: I have presented to a group of 3 – 150 people regarding a strategy regarding a job search and educated people on the tools of New Media for a Non-profit organizationLeadership: I am bringing together a group of journalists, bloggers, and public relations professionals to discuss the state of the communications industry and how it relates to everyone.Belief: I believe in Detroit and do not want to relocate for a position.  I am active in the networking and in various tech related groups.  I believe in Detroit and I see a future for Detroit.
