It can be dispiriting to find that a well-designed system that has been carefully implemented runs into problems as soon as it hits production, but such things do happen. This session explores why this happens and discusses why good software development practice is important but ultimately isn't sufficient to create a reliable and effective enterprise system. We'll discuss what being "production ready" really means in order to allow us to understand the principles, patterns and practices that we need to be aware of and apply in order to get our systems into production safely and keep them there.

From a secure systems perspective, this is the wrong way around. To build a secure system, you need to start from the things that need to be protected and the threats to those resources.

Windows Accelerate IT Pro Bootcamp: Introduction (Module 1 of 8)
We ran the "Windows Accelerate IT Pro Bootcamp" one day hands-on workshop in early June 2014. These eight modules were designed to get IT managers, project managers, sysadmin and devops up to speed with the new Windows 8.1 and Office 2013. The bootcamp focused on how to move off earlier versions of Windows and Office to a modern desktop and tablet platforms with the latest security and mobility technologies.

- Windows 10 can be deployed through familiar enterprise processes of imaging or provisioning packages that customize the OS for organization use while preserving user files and settings. New provisioning techniques are available as well for transforming consumer devices owned by employees.
