extent as political system.
After three years of fighting,
the Filipino revolutionaries
surrendered to the American
forces.
America sold the Philippines but the Filipinos
chose to be independent rather than be subjected
to another colonialist, thus the Philippine-American
War.
The Spaniards were defeated
by the Ameriacans during the

12. 1987 CONSTITUTION
It reinstated the Democracy as a result on the success
of People Power Revolution that toppled the Marcos
dictatorship. The rights mandated in a democratic
society such as the right to vote and freedom of
expression were also restored.
