23. Delightful Feedback to ME (ROJoson)
On February 24, 2018, there were 9 of us Xavier Class 66 classmates who hosted the
Chinese New Year and Birthday celebration dinner for our other batchmates. We
were supposed to divide the dinner expenses among us. However, my share was
suddenly and insistently shouldered by my classmate Wilson Lim. I was surprised
and asked him why? What he said touched me immensely (he told this also to my
children and to another classmate). He said he wanted to thank me for all that I have
competently and compassionately done to his employees and friends whom he had
referred to me (medical consults) in the past. (Honestly, I could not remember them
anymore.) He insisted he has to do it now because he may loose the next
opportunity as we are near 70 years old already.

marathon of life. Your words and actions will always inspire me to be

May you find tranquility and comfort in this book, serving as a sort of

Eulogy / Honoring by Beth Tumambing (my secretary at Manila
Doctors Hospital)
January 31, 2019
A Message to Dr. Reynaldo O. Joson on his 70th Birthday
It took me sometime to make this letter as I told him my Eulogical
Message. It started as a joke but for him it is a welcome gesture when
we talked it out last Tuesday. Confronting him of his bragging about his
death day on his birthday. A little that I understood his reasons of his
preparedness to death but still I cannot accept his unique way of
accepting death.

It’s been a long time since you started to be one of the bosses. Then, you we’re so simple and
quiet. You will do your things as if life can never be better without you doing your stuff
(writing). The first time I’ve known you, you will really go places. Your devotion to being a
Doctor is somehow somewhat shown in everything that you do. You’re not only
compassionate to your patients but you have the ears to listen to their woes when budget
wise is concern for their operation. Puede nga sayo gives gives. You as a Doctor is
incomparable. You’re a great Doctor. Professional fee comes later but doing the operation is
the most important matter to save your patient. Many do not understand your way and ideas
but it is You. You always comes out a new and brighter ideas of so many things which make
others think otherwise of who you are. You stayed quiet in every criticism you received. You
just shrugged your shoulders even if it hurts you. You will keep it solely to yourself no matter
how demeaning it is. You will just think about it for a time and start again as if nothing has
been said and done. But this things never stops you for being a Good Doctor. Because no one
can put you down.

This is an acceptance of your challenge that this is your DAY. I still do not understand
your idea but I know it is how you understand what life is. Bring the knowledge of
what death is and leave your LEGACY to your heir. Continue your mission at the
other side and let your greatness shine upon us. May your many contributions to
Medical Field be a continuing legacy not only to just one but to many who believes in
you. Scatter the knowledge that you have left behind through your memories. You
will be missed but your memories will lingers on. You deserve every good words but
ardently you deserve happiness and peace. Bring the goodness you shared with us
and may it be a lingering words for you to see us through. Thank you for being one of
the bosses. Thank you for being a man of few words. But most important for being
so brave to face your death day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY .

Delighted to receive this feedback from Anj Ong on February
10, 2019.
Yesterday I literally went under the knife for
mass excision. It may sound like a simple
procedure but it was the longest 45 mins of my
life as I lay on the operating table. Thank God
for doctors with genuine concern for patients.
My deepest gratitude for the bestest and my
favorite Doc - Dr. Reynaldo O Joson😀 He has
been taking care of my mom, my sister and me
since the 80's until now and he has never
changed a bit. His dedication to his profession
to help people is truly remarkable. I know he
has given his life to being a doctor for a good
number of years already but I still always tell
him that he can't retire just yet. His patients
need him. Thank you again Doc. 😊
