This document discusses the definition of health and different perspectives on palliative care. It argues that enthusiasm for work and compassion define health more than just the absence of disease. Palliative care, which focuses on lessening suffering without harming the immune system, is presented as an ideal approach for most diseases except medical emergencies. However, patient care is now more focused on making money through technology rather than healing. The document advocates changing the science base from reductionist to linear in order to address issues in the current system and better support patient health and happiness.
