Akylie Holterman designed a logo using red and green colors to represent energy and courage. The rectangle and star shapes symbolize exploring new ideas and leadership. For a poster, Akylie chose a James Dean quote about dreams and life being connected. The sleeping dog picture depicted letting life float by, fitting the quote. Different fonts were used to better convey the message, and varying purple shades complemented the green grass color to emphasize the key ideas.

3. Why the color(s)?
• I chose the colors red and green because I like
the color red and green is the complementary
color to red. The color red in my logo is for
energy and courage which I is how, I would
like people to see me as. The green is the
complementary color for red, and is because
the two colors together are festive.

4. Why the shape(s)?
• I chose to put a rectangle in the middle of my
logo because I like to explore new ideas, and
the Stars are sort of like triangles which I put
because I am a leader. I like to give my ideas
to people which is a both the rectangle and
the star/triangle.

• The quote that I chose is by James Dean and
the reason that I chose this quote is, because I
like to dream and this quote was the one that
spoke the most about dreams to me. The
quote also talked about life and how dreams
and life are connected.

7. Why the picture?
• I chose the picture because I liked how the
dog looked like it was sleeping and letting his
life float by, which I had thought worked for
this quote.

8. Why the font?
• The font is different because thru the whole
quote because I thought that the three fonts
worked and looked better then just one font,
it really got the message across.
