Abstract:
Cloud storage services have become commercially popular due to their overwhelming advantages. To provide ubiquitous always-on access, a cloud service provider (CSP) maintains multiple replicas for each piece of data on geographically distributed servers. A key problem of using the replication technique in clouds is that it is very expensive to achieve strong consistency on a worldwide scale. In this paper, we first present a novel consistency as a service (CaaS) model, which consists of a large data cloud and multiple small audit clouds. In the CaaS model, a data cloud is maintained by a CSP, and a group of users that constitute an audit cloud can verify whether the data cloud provides the promised level of consistency or not. We propose a two-level auditing architecture, which only requires a loosely synchronized clock in the audit cloud. Then, we design algorithms to quantify the severity of violations with two metrics: the commonality of violations, and the staleness of the value of a read. Finally, we devise a heuristic auditing strategy (HAS) to reveal as many violations as possible. Extensive experiments were performed using a combination of simulations and real cloud deployments to validate HAS.

Introduction:
CLOUD computing has become commercially more popular, as it swears to guarantee scalability, elasticity, and high availability and at a cost which Is low. Initiated by the trend of the everything-as-a-service model. Data storages, virtualized infrastructure, virtualized platforms, as well as applications and softwares are being provided and consumed as services in the cloud. Cloud storage services can be included as a distinctive service in cloud computing, which considers the delivery of data storage as a service. More often billed on a utility computing basis, e.g., per gigabyte per month. Some of the examples may include Amazon SimpleDB, Microsoft Azure storage, etc. By using the cloud storage services, the data stored in the cloud can be accessed anytime and anywhere, using any device, without much caring about a large amount of investments when deploying the underlying hardware infrastructures.

This document summarizes the results of simulations run to analyze the performance of different processor configurations with varying levels of instruction-level parallelism. The key findings are:
1) For processors with significant memory latency, there is little performance difference between simple in-order and more complex out-of-order designs, as memory latency dominates execution time.
2) Supporting just two concurrently pending instructions provides most of the benefit of more complex out-of-order execution, while greatly reducing hardware complexity.
3) As the mismatch between processor and memory system performance increases, all designs see similar performance, regardless of the level of instruction-level parallelism exploited.

An Adaptive Load Balancing Middleware for Distributed SimulationGabriele D'Angelo
The simulation is useful to support the design and performance evaluation of complex systems, possibly composed by a massive number of interacting entities. For this reason, the simulation of such systems may need aggregate computation and memory resources obtained by clusters of parallel and distributed execution units. Shared computer clusters composed of available Commercial-Off-the-Shelf hardware are preferable to dedicated systems, mainly for cost reasons. The performance of distributed simulations is influenced by the heterogeneity of execution units and by their respective CPU load in background. Adaptive load balancing mechanisms could improve the resources utilization and the simulation process execution, by dynamically tuning the simulation load with an eye to the synchronization and communication overheads reduction. In this work it will be presented the GAIA+ framework: a new load balancing mechanism for distributed simulation. The framework has been evaluated by performing testbed simulations of a wireless ad hoc network model. Results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed solutions.
SDN Control Plane scalability research proposalYatindra shashi
The document proposes a hybrid SDN control plane scalability model to handle millions of flows per second with low latency for large networks. It combines hierarchical and distributed control by using local controllers to manage specific switches, a logical central controller with a global view, and distributed physical controllers running ONIX instances with a shared network information base to reduce load on the central controller. The proposed model aims to scale control plane capacity while maintaining SDN principles of separating the control and data planes. It is argued this hybrid approach could improve performance and reliability compared to simple OpenFlow architectures.

Mobile phones are becoming platforms for personal sensing, computing and communication. This paper proposes TagSense, a mobile phone system that uses sensing to automatically tag images. TagSense senses people, activities and contexts in pictures and merges them to create tags on-the-fly. It was tested on 8 Android phones with 200 pictures, showing it can effectively tag images. Compared to Apple and Google tagging systems, TagSense provides valuable tagging by using additional sensing dimensions, especially as devices and sensing algorithms improve.

This document describes a new lossless color image compression algorithm based on hierarchical prediction and context-adaptive arithmetic coding. It decorrelates RGB images using a reversible color transform, then encodes the Y component conventionally and the chrominance components hierarchically using upper, left, and lower pixels for prediction rather than just upper and left. An appropriate context model is defined for prediction errors, which are arithmetic coded. Testing showed this method achieves better bit rate compression than JPEG2000 and JPEG-XR.
This document describes a proposed system for efficient image encryption-then-compression (ETC). Existing ETC solutions significantly reduce compression efficiency. The proposed system encrypts images in the prediction error domain, allowing for reasonably secure encryption while maintaining high compression efficiency. Encrypted images can be compressed using arithmetic coding, achieving compression performance similar to compressing uncompressed images. This overcomes limitations of prior ETC systems that degraded compression performance on encrypted data.

Prediction of Electrical Energy Efficiency Using Information on Consumer's Ac...PriyankaKilaniya
Energy efficiency has been important since the latter part of the last century. The main object of this survey is to determine the energy efficiency knowledge among consumers. Two separate districts in Bangladesh are selected to conduct the survey on households and showrooms about the energy and seller also. The survey uses the data to find some regression equations from which it is easy to predict energy efficiency knowledge. The data is analyzed and calculated based on five important criteria. The initial target was to find some factors that help predict a person's energy efficiency knowledge. From the survey, it is found that the energy efficiency awareness among the people of our country is very low. Relationships between household energy use behaviors are estimated using a unique dataset of about 40 households and 20 showrooms in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj and Bagerhat districts. Knowledge of energy consumption and energy efficiency technology options is found to be associated with household use of energy conservation practices. Household characteristics also influence household energy use behavior. Younger household cohorts are more likely to adopt energy-efficient technologies and energy conservation practices and place primary importance on energy saving for environmental reasons. Education also influences attitudes toward energy conservation in Bangladesh. Low-education households indicate they primarily save electricity for the environment while high-education households indicate they are motivated by environmental concerns.

important. Home security is important for the occupant’s safety. In this paper, we came up with a low cost,
AI based model home security system. The system has a user-friendly interface, allowing users to start
model training and face detection with simple keyboard commands. Our goal is to introduce an innovative
home security system using facial recognition technology. Unlike traditional systems, this system trains
and saves images of friends and family members. The system scans this folder to recognize familiar faces
and provides real-time monitoring. If an unfamiliar face is detected, it promptly sends an email alert,
ensuring a proactive response to potential security threats.

Accident detection system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
The Rapid growth of technology and infrastructure has made our lives easier. The
advent of technology has also increased the traffic hazards and the road accidents take place
frequently which causes huge loss of life and property because of the poor emergency facilities.
Many lives could have been saved if emergency service could get accident information and
reach in time. Our project will provide an optimum solution to this draw back. A piezo electric
sensor can be used as a crash or rollover detector of the vehicle during and after a crash. With
signals from a piezo electric sensor, a severe accident can be recognized. According to this
project when a vehicle meets with an accident immediately piezo electric sensor will detect the
signal or if a car rolls over. Then with the help of GSM module and GPS module, the location
will be sent to the emergency contact. Then after conforming the location necessary action will
be taken. If the person meets with a small accident or if there is no serious threat to anyone’s
life, then the alert message can be terminated by the driver by a switch provided in order to
avoid wasting the valuable time of the medical rescue team.
Blood finder application project report (1).pdfKamal Acharya
Blood Finder is an emergency time app where a user can search for the blood banks as
well as the registered blood donors around Mumbai. This application also provide an
opportunity for the user of this application to become a registered donor for this user have
to enroll for the donor request from the application itself. If the admin wish to make user
a registered donor, with some of the formalities with the organization it can be done.
Specialization of this application is that the user will not have to register on sign-in for
searching the blood banks and blood donors it can be just done by installing the
application to the mobile.
The purpose of making this application is to save the user’s time for searching blood of
needed blood group during the time of the emergency.
This is an android application developed in Java and XML with the connectivity of
SQLite database. This application will provide most of basic functionality required for an
emergency time application. All the details of Blood banks and Blood donors are stored
in the database i.e. SQLite.
This application allowed the user to get all the information regarding blood banks and
blood donors such as Name, Number, Address, Blood Group, rather than searching it on
the different websites and wasting the precious time. This application is effective and
user friendly.

Decentralized Enactment of BPEL Processes
ABSTRACT:
This article presents BPELcube, a framework comprising a scalable architecture and a
set of distributed algorithms, which support the decentralized enactment of BPEL
processes. In many application domains, BPEL processes are long-running, involve the
exchange of voluminous data with external Web services, and are concurrently accessed
by large numbers of users. In such context, centralized BPEL process execution engines
pose considerable limitations in terms of scalability and performance. To overcome such
problems, a scalable hypercube peer-to-peer topology is employed by BPELcube in
order to organize an arbitrary number of nodes, which can then collaborate in the
decentralized execution and monitoring of BPEL processes. Contrary to traditional
clustering approaches, each node does not fully take charge of executing the whole
process; rather, it contributes to the overall process execution by running a subset of the
process activities and maintaining a subset of the process variables. Hence, the
hypercube-based infrastructure acts as a single execution engine, where workload is
evenly distributed among the participating nodes in a fine-grained manner. An
experimental evaluation of BPELcube and a comparison with centralized and clustered
BPEL engine architectures demonstrate that the decentralized approach yields
improved process execution times and throughput.
2. EXISTING SYSTEM:
BPEL processes are long-running, involve the exchange of voluminous data with
external Web services, and are concurrently accessed by large numbers of users. In
such context, centralized BPEL process execution engines pose considerable limitations
in terms of scalability and performance. To overcome such problems, a scalable
hypercube peer-to-peer topology is employed by BPELcube in order to organize an
arbitrary number of nodes, which can then collaborate in the decentralized execution
and monitoring of BPEL processes. THE Web Services Business Process Execution
Language abbreviated toWS-BPEL or BPEL, is widely considered the de facto standard
for the implementation of executable service-oriented business processes as
compositions of Web services. The language specification defines a set of activities to
support synchronous and asynchronous interactions between a process and its clients,
as well as between a process and external Web services
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
To improve the throughput of the BPEL process execution infrastructure in the
presence of multiple concurrent clients, a program partitioning technique has been
proposed by Nanda et al.which splits a given BPEL process specification into an
equivalent set of processes. The latter are then executed by different server nodes
without the need of a centralized coordinator. Similar approaches have also been
proposed. Along the same lines, the use of a penalty based genetic algorithm to partition
a given BPEL process and thereby allow decentralized execution was proposed. We are
also interested in extending the proposed architecture to support Cloud-based
deployment of theBPELcube engine. We anticipate that by moving BPELcube to the
Cloud, we will be able to exploit elasticity capabilities for dynamically increasing or
decreasing the hypercube dimension. This way, the BPELcube engine will be able to
effectively and timely respond to workload changes. Finally, in terms of
implementation, we will investigate the use of parallel query processing techniques to
further enhance the performance of BPELcube nodes, in the presence of multiple
concurrently running process instances.
3. CONCLUSION:
We presented a distributed architecture based on the hypercube P2P topology along
with a set of algorithms that enable the decentralized execution of BPEL processes. Our
approach targets towards the improvement of the average process execution times and
the enhancement of the overall throughput of the execution infrastructure, in the
presence of multiple long-running process instances that involve the exchange of large
data. The presented algorithms support the decomposition of a given BPEL process and
the subsequent assignment of the constituent activities and data variables to the
available hypercube nodes. Execution is then performed in a completely decentralized
manner without the existence of a central coordinator. Our distributed approach also
provides a lightweight monitoring mechanism that does not intrude into the process
execution, but rather allows the retrieval of monitoring information from the hypercube
in a seamless manner. We evaluated our approach in a series of experiments, and
compared it with centralized and clustered architectures in terms of performance.
