Potentials of the Blockchain Technology in Coworking Spaces -- Martin de BieJean-Yves Huwart
Blockchain technology has potential applications in co-working spaces due to the numerous parties involved in real estate transactions. Currently, relevant data is non-standardized and distributed between market participants, lacking a "single source of truth". Blockchain could provide a shared platform and ledger to facilitate value exchanges without third parties by creating a smart ecosystem for more efficient property management through automated processes. LOEK! is presented as a leading example of a smart, collaborative platform leveraging blockchain and other technologies to provide innovative asset management solutions for co-working spaces.
Manor, Texas implemented several Gov 2.0 programs to engage citizens and pass more power to the people, including an open innovation platform called ManorLabs.org. The platform uses a four stage process to vet and implement ideas submitted by citizens. It also uses game mechanics like rewarding citizens with "Innobucks" for participation, which can be redeemed for real prizes. Other programs include using QR codes and RFID tags throughout the city, a distributed 311 program, and engaging social media presence. The document suggests other cities can replicate these programs with internal innovation teams, partnerships, and starting small with pilot programs.

Metadata Madness: Semantics Takes Center StageMatt Turner
There is a big change happening right now in how we think about managing metadata and the impact it can have – including powering the top new app in the nation. Far from the afterthought of administrative tagging, metadata is now critical to the digital marketplaces and the effectiveness of digital products. Semantic metadata is a new approach that brings the flexibility necessary to capture the complete picture and to create and manage the new and ever-changing associations and relationships. This session will discuss the impact of semantics on metadata and demo it in action, revolutionizing what metadata can do for content.

Today, organizations want both IT simplicity and innovation, but reliance on traditional databases only leads to more complexity, longer development cycles, and more silos. In fact, organizations report that the #1 impediment to big data success is having too many silos. In this webinar, we will discuss how a new database technology, semantics, solves this problem by providing a new approach to modeling data that focuses on relationships and context, making it easier for data to be understood, searched, and shared. With semantics, world-leading organizations are integrating disparate data faster and easier and building smarter applications with richer analytic capabilities—benefits that we look forward to diving into during the webinar.

Presented at Meatadata Madness in NYC March 2016. Metadata is more critical than ever and its impact is not just distribution but now extends across every area of the digital supply chain. Traditional methods of managing data with rows and columns create data that can't easily be shared and results in this critical data being in silos. Smart Content - a new approach using NoSQL and Semantics - enables this data to truly be shared across the supply chain including into production where valuable data is created but then lost in more organizations.

BIG DATA: hacking complexity - Digital for BusinessCultura Digitale
Metadata has the potential to impact nearly every part of your enterprise. From helping you connect data across business processes to holding the key to your most valuable assets, this underdog data is finally getting the attention it deserves.
But, according to a Dataversity report on Metadata, nearly a third of organizations have only begun to address managing this valuable data and a quarter have no metadata strategy at all.
Part of what has held organizations back is that metadata is notoriously sneaky data to manage, and even more difficult to put into action using traditional relational database technology.
This webinar will look at the critical importance of metadata and highlight mission critical metadata apps that have taken a new approach with enterprise NoSQL technology and semantic data models.
Organizations including commercial entities, intelligence agencies, and some of your favorite entertainment companies using this approach have made good on the promise of metadata, and this webinar will cover how you can make metadata the hero in your organization.
The document discusses radical innovation and the new style of business required to address emerging megatrends and technological changes. It notes that current IT infrastructure strategies are unsustainable given demands for mobility, cloud services, big data and social engagement. The new style of IT must align to six megatrends: engaging and transacting through cloud, mobility, big data, automation, security and delivering new experiences that are context aware, seamless and secure. It also discusses moving from products to services and the need for both big innovations that create change as well as little innovations that perfect the current state.
Leadership In The Digital Transformation EraGoKart Labs
The document discusses the challenges of digital transformation for businesses. It notes that we have entered an "Age of the Customer" where adaptability and speed are key. Mass extinctions of companies are occurring as 50% of Fortune 500 companies since 2000 have been acquired, merged or declared bankruptcy due to an inability to adapt to digital transformation. True adaptation is difficult for businesses and requires investment in technology, structure, culture, talent and metrics. However, the main problem is not willingness to invest, but rather overcoming human resistance to change through challenging limiting beliefs. The document recommends using the "Three Box Solution" approach of having separate teams focus on forgetting the past through innovation (Box 2), building the future (Box 3), and protecting the
Platform Business Models: Implications for Value CreationRobin Teigland
1. Platform business models are disrupting traditional linear "pipeline" models through network effects and access over ownership.
2. Ecosystem leadership is key for platform companies, requiring understanding users, expanding boundaries, leveraging resources, and cultivating trust across the ecosystem.
3. Many jobs will be automated through technologies like AI, robotics, and blockchain, while jobs requiring creativity, social-emotional skills, and non-routine problem solving will increase in demand. Skills will need to constantly adapt to an uncertain future.
The document discusses how social, mobile, analytics and cloud (SMAC) technologies are transforming businesses through the "SMAC stack". The SMAC stack represents the next major architecture for enterprise IT, enabling hyper-intelligent software platforms that can transform business models and key processes. Examples are given of how SMAC-powered businesses like Craigslist and Wikipedia have disrupted traditional industrial models in industries like newspapers and encyclopedias. Unless companies implement SMAC technologies to transform their business models, they risk facing disruption like many traditional "widget winners" that have been usurped by "digit winners" that have embraced SMAC. The document outlines how the SMAC stack will lead to exponential growth in the number of connected devices and

Digital transformation sweet spot: Business operationsMarcel Santilli

Your enterprise can digitally transform by gaining insights from your data to improve the experience for your customers.
Enterprises need to make over all aspects of their business, because today’s customers expect frictionless experiences — and because new competitors launched with the latest technologies can change and respond to customers faster than mature companies.
Start with the fact that your enterprise has valuable assets that start-ups don’t — your customers. Fostering loyalty among these customers requires improving their interaction with not only your products and services, but also sales, billing, support and shipping operations. Successful companies count on digital technologies to transform the total customer experience. As consumers, we’ve come to expect digitally enabled products as the new normal. But what’s the next step for your enterprise? Find ways to translate into their business lives what people love and expect as consumers.
Enterprises can learn from the digital leaders who look for ways that apps and data can be added to products to create new value over time. Digital leaders use what they learn from the data to reshape core operations to drive the enterprise forward. What’s considered a core operation varies from industry to industry, but the common characteristic is that core operations make up a sizable portion of the enterprise budget. Gaining even a modest amount of efficiency through digital transformation can significantly impact the bottom line. Data also can be used to predict mechanical failure and to schedule preventive maintenance to avoid business disruptions.
Digital transformation begins with data. So how can your enterprise gain insights from your data to improve the experience for your customers?
Role of Data in Digital TransformationVMware Tanzu
Data plays a big role in building the kinds of experiences demanded by the market today.
