スモールスタートからはじめ、スケールアウト戦略を適用しやすいKVSはクラウドと相性がよく、MemcachedやRedisを始めとして各所で利用シーンを見かける事が多くなってきました。 Memcached / Membase / CouchDBのマリアージュにより生まれたCouchbase Serverは多種あるKVSの中でもクラウドとの相性が良く、魅力的な製品の一つです。 また、標準で扱いやすいWebコンソールや運用を前提としたCLIツール、SDK、XDCR(クロスデーターレプリケーション)機能など、KVS運用で求められる多くの機能を構成しています。 今回はスケールアウト型の大規模運用を前提に、Microsoft Azure上でCouchbase Serverのベンチマークや運用、構築を行った経験から得られた事を中心にお話できればと思います。
