Like any other webquest, this one follows the same structure: Introduction, Task, Process, Resources, Evaluation and Conclusion. Students should put themselves in the place of people with special needs, reflect on their attitudes and behaviour towards them. They will be also ask to design a poster to help improve attitudes toward children with disabilities. In the process, they follow some given topics and links. They are also aware of what their evaluation will consist on and what they´ll have learnt when the project is complete.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

My learning for the day
Types of Unempathetic People
1. The Dodger vs The Advisor - The Dodgers don’t know what to say. Their
eyes dart, they change the topic, they check their phone… they do not know
how to show empathy whereas the Advisors provide numerous solutions
to your issues. They suddenly become an expert on everything
2. The Positive Picker Upper vs The One Uppers - The Positive Picker
Uppers can’t help but paint a silver lining over your pain. They want you to
look on the bright side whereas the One Uppers’ behaviour is - No matter
what happens to you, there will always be someone in the world who has
it worse
3. The Minimizer vs The Dramatist - The Minimizers look for ways to make
the problem smaller so they can get out of the conversation whereas The
Dramatists overreact to the news of distress
4. The Storyteller - Their typical response is - “Oh yeah, I know someone who
went through something similar and here’s what happened….”
If you analyse their responses, you will realise that they all want to
minimize your pain and discomfort. But do not achieve their objective.
So what’s the best way to empathise?
Action 1. Just listen and be there
Action 2. Connect with their feelings (walk a mile in their shoes, think what
you would feel in their situation)
Action 3. Acknowledge their pain (convey “I am there for you”, either verbally
or just by touch, if your culture allows)
Action 4. Show them love - Don’t ask what you can do to help. Just do
something.

My personal story about sympathy and empathy
Last year we had formed a community of veteran women to coach/ guide
career women.
One of the common issues faced by the coachees was - no one gave them
jobs after their maternity break.
I felt sorry for them, I felt angry about the industry and I felt helpless
because I couldn’t find them a job. My inability to serve them weighed high
on my mind.
I shared my suffering with a veteran friend, Rajesh Jain. He asked me, “Did
you ask them why they did not get a job?”
This one question gave me a sudden realization that I was in sympathy
mode all along and not in empathy mode.
Rather than being angry, sad, helpless, I should have identified if they
needed any training/ hand holding/ confidence building... etc. And then take
action to rectify the gaps.
I realised that sympathy is a passive act whereas empathy is a proactive act.
Hope my personal sharing helps you to convert your sympathy into empathy.
Grateful to - Brené Brown, Lara Click, Rakesh Jain
What is Empathy?
Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.
This is a nice quote that explains the difference between Empathy and Sympathy -
“Empathy is walking a mile in somebody else's moccasins. Sympathy is being sorry
their feet hurt.” ― Rebecca O'Donnell
How to enhance this skill?
Set a goal to become a go-to person by mastering the art and science of Empathy.

- to use these skills in my worklife for a better performance,
- tp use these skills in my personal life for enriching my relationships,
- to open new possibilities to surprise myself
This is my next 66 day challenge (from 10 April 2020) - To share my Life Skills
learning with my social media friends.
I pray that my toil helps you in your success journey.
