2. How are the titles edited with music/sound/shot
types - think about the pace of the edit?
• Throughout the trailer you can hear lots of different sounds and music.
The first 10 seconds are filled with screams and whispers that give off a
horror feeling immediately. The sounds are very fast paced and only last
for a few seconds then switch to something else, corresponding with the
images. The country music heard from 0:40 is contrapuntal as it is chilled
music that does not match apocalyptic disaster that is being shown in the
trailer so far. Close up shots of the zombies are used and there is an
extreme close up at the end of the senators speech on him, to show his
anxiety and how worried he is. Also the crosscutting of the credits are
edited with the sound of blood every time it switches.

3. How do the titles reflect the
narrative/themes/genre of the Film?
• The title reflects the narrative as the audience are shown that it is a
disequilibrium and it sets up the idea that it is a zombie apocalypse that
threaten mankind through the panic shown by the people and the
zombies attacking the people. The themes are reflected through the panic
and horrifying sounds that it will be survival from the zombies. The genre
of the film is reflected by the title through the use of blood and images of
zombies. The short clips of people running give from the zombie
epitomizes the typical horror movie.

4. How is music and sound used in the film
opening ?
Un till the interview commences in the 00:15 seconds, you can hear a
mysterious silence and then a scream. It repeats again when it is
interrupted by sounds of thunder and more screams, this time sounding
like several people screaming. Immediately without needing to be
introduced to any characters these sounds give of the impression that it is
a horror movie to the audience. The screaming could resemble people
panicking or screams of the zombies, either way it connotes to the horror
genre.

5. What iconography is used and how is it used to
develop genre?
The people praying at the very beginning is iconic because it displays that
people are turning to God, hoping that everything turns out well as they
feel only God can help them in this apocalypse.
The news report is another form of iconography as it exhibits a broadcast
to the country highlighting the disasters that have occurred. The breaking
up of the broadcast epitomizes that things are going to get worse and
escalate.
Both these forms of iconography are vital in building and developing the
horror genre in the audiences mind.

6. Does the Film opening contain enigma codes?
The film opening contains several enigma codes. Ones such as ‘what has
happened?’, ‘what are people running away from?’, ‘has anyone
survived?’, ‘how did this infection spread?’.

7. How is the narrative established - if you had to
sum up the 'story' in sentence what would it be?
A group of survivors try to keep humanity alive against the odds and a
terrible apocalypse.
