David’s Change of Command Ceremony
Text: 1Chr 28:10
I. Reproof- Take heed now…
II. Requirement- …be strong…
III. Repetition- …and do it.
Conclusion: your change of command ceremony-
Lesson 5 in a series on the Ten Commandments. This lesson on the fourth command was presented August 14, 2011, at Palm Desert Church of Christ, by Dale Wells.
1 Kings 6 and 8 CBT Lesson 21 A King Builds a Temple for God's Name - A Godly...Lazarou Richard
Solomon builds the Temple in Jerusalem to provide a place for Israelites to worship God corporately. God promises to dwell among his people if they obey his commands. Solomon praises God for fulfilling his promise to David to have his son build a temple. Solomon recognizes the Temple is not enough to contain God but asks that God hear the prayers of his people offered there. Godly leaders set an example by confessing sins and repenting as a community during corporate worship.
The document discusses whether believers should choose their own way or follow God's way in various religious matters. It notes that Noah built the ark that God instructed, Abel offered the sacrifice God desired, and Jesus rejected Peter's suggestion to build unauthorized tabernacles. The gospel comes from God, not man, and Jesus established one church that believers should join, not a church of their own choosing. Choosing one's own way leads to divisions, but following God's way leads to unity and salvation.
Nehemiah encouraged the Israelites to rise up and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem because they were in distress and being reproached. He reminded them that God would prosper them in this good work. Similarly, the church today is not growing and is in need of being rebuilt. Christians must understand the urgency to work together to grow the church so that it may no longer be a reproach, and so that through their efforts more people can be saved.

"The Way of the Cross Leads Home." This world is not the Christian's home, we are merely passing through as pilgrims and sojourners. Paul told the Philippians that "our citizenship is in heaven." We as Christians are always looking for that eternal home, created by God and awaiting all those in Christ Jesus.
Genesis 3.15, 21; 12.1-9 CBT Week One Faith-walkers 2019Lazarou Richard
This document provides a summary of Genesis 3:15, 21 and 12:1-9 from the Bible. It discusses how God required faith from Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden by laying out a prohibition. After the fall, God responded by beginning the redemption process through the protoevangelium in Genesis 3:15. The document then summarizes how God called Abram to leave his home and promised to make him a great nation, requiring Abram's faith in following God's command. It poses discussion questions about having faith in God's promises and not one's own understanding. The lesson teaches that God gives promises and looks for faith, while redemption comes through Jesus Christ.

Nadab and Abihu, sons of Aaron the priest, offered unauthorized fire before the Lord in the burning of incense. As a result, fire came out from the Lord and consumed them, killing them. Moses then told Aaron that God had said "Among those who are near me I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified." The document discusses how God punishes disobedience immediately and will punish at the final judgment. It emphasizes the importance of worshipping in a way authorized by God and sanctifying oneself to glorify God.

Be a Servant to the God King - Acts 4:32 - 5:14 - June 2nd, 2013Cody Nazarene Church
1) The early believers devoted themselves to learning from the apostles, fellowship, breaking bread together, and prayer. They shared everything in common and there was no one in need among them.
2) Ananias and Sapphira sold property but kept back some of the money, lying to the apostles and Holy Spirit. Both fell down dead, striking fear in the church.
3) The apostles performed many signs and wonders, and more people believed.
The document discusses principles for Christians regarding their collection and giving. It outlines that Christians should set aside part of their finances every week to support the church and those in need. Christians should give willingly according to their means and show the proof of their love through generous giving. God loves cheerful, liberal givers who give purposefully without reluctance.
This document appears to be from a church and contains summaries of bible passages and teachings from a pastor. It discusses backsliding, or turning away from following God wholeheartedly. It notes that backsliding leads to troubles in one's life because sin produces its own consequences. It encourages the congregation to repent from sins of both commission and omission, and to draw close to God once again.
STEADFAST: Unwavering or determined in purpose, loyalty. As children of God we should be steadfast in faith, in hope, in confidence, in worship, in obedience and in work.
The document discusses the goodness of God. It provides several examples from the Bible to illustrate that God's goodness is part of his character, and is described as great, rich, abundant, satisfying, enduring, and universal. God manifests his goodness in doing good works, supplying temporal needs, providing for the poor, forgiving sins, and leading people to repentance. The document urges recognizing God's goodness in his dealings, praising him for it, and trusting in his goodness, while noting that the wicked disregard God's goodness.

This document discusses the intended purpose of temples according to several Bible passages, contrasting it with flawed realities. It begins by explaining how temples were meant to be houses of prayer for all people according to passages like 1 Kings 8:41-43 and Isaiah 2:2-3. However, passages like Jeremiah 7:9-11 and John 2:13-14 show how temples had become places of corruption and commercialism rather than holiness. Jesus cleansed the temple to restore its intended purpose as a holy place of prayer and teaching. The document suggests we should reflect on whether churches today truly fulfill their intended roles.
The document is a slide presentation on the theme of "A Brick in the Wall" discussing the biblical history of temples. It summarizes passages from 1 Kings, 2 Kings, Ezra, Mark, Daniel, 1 Peter, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, 1 Timothy, Ecclesiastes describing the completion of Solomon's temple, its destruction, the rebuilding under Ezra and Nehemiah, the destruction of Herod's temple, and references to believers as a spiritual temple and body of Christ.
M2013 s19 The joy of the Lord is your strength sermonJames Bradshaw
The document discusses finding joy and strength through God's word. It makes three key points:
1. When the Jews heard God's word, they wept because it made them realize their sins of omission by not following God's commands. True faith produces obedience to God's word.
2. God's joy and strength can help us overcome weaknesses and difficulties. His word provides hope, consolation, and an anchor for our souls.
3. The Jews found what was written in God's law by reading from it daily and studying it to understand God's prescribed manner. Christians should similarly read and study scripture every day.
This document discusses the biblical feast of Shavuot (Pentecost). It is the second pilgrimage feast that occurs seven weeks after Passover and celebrates the spring harvest. Historically, Jews also celebrate Shavuot as the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai. The document then explains how Pentecost represents the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church, connecting the old covenant with the new. It provides biblical passages about the gifts and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
5 Things (Script + Black and White Visuals)LRMMissions
The "5 Things" Lesson is a lesson focused around discipling children. The first half of the lesson teaches of what God has done for us while the second half teaches that which we can do for Him
This document discusses the stages of spiritual maturity from disciple to apostle. It compares this journey to the stages of fruit bearing in the Bible.
The three stages discussed are:
1. The first 3 years/as a disciple where the fruit is uncircumcised and not eaten. This represents being a new believer.
2. The 4th year where the fruit is holy but not yet eaten, representing growing in strength and the word abiding in you.
3. The 5th year and beyond/as an apostle, where the fruit is fully yielded and eaten, representing spiritual fathers who bear the fruit of the spirit abundantly.
This document provides an overview of key events and teachings from Genesis chapters 1 through 13:
1) God created the heavens, earth, light, day and night, land and sea, and living creatures. He created man and woman in His image and placed them in the Garden of Eden.
2) Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit. As a result, they were banished from the garden and humanity became subject to sin, suffering, and physical death.
3) Noah found favor with God and was instructed to build an ark to survive God's judgment on humanity in the form of a worldwide flood. After the flood, God established His covenant with Noah.
4)
The document discusses the importance of slowing down and being thankful. It references passages from the Bible that encourage replacing comparison with contentment, slowing down each day to spend time with God, and being thankful for both blessings and trials, as they help us grow. Living with a thankful and expectant attitude allows God to work infinitely more than we can imagine.

When Arioch, the commander of the king's guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact. 15 He asked the king's officer, "Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?" Arioch then explained the matter to Daniel. 16 At this, Daniel went in to the king and asked for time, so that he might interpret the dream for him.
17 ¶ Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said: "Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. 22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. 23 I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king."

The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. 7 He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: 8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. 9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; 10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; 14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

1) Self-delusion is a characteristic of the wicked where prosperity leads them to believe they will never face adversity and their ways are right.
2) The obstinately wicked are often given over to their own hearts' lusts and deceitful beliefs that they are pure, better than others, and can have peace in sin.
3) Those who are self-deluded hold beliefs like gifts or privileges entitle them to heaven and that God will not punish their sins, preserving such delusions until the end when the fatal consequences are realized.
This document explores themes from the story of Joseph through references from Genesis and other books of the Bible. It is divided into five sections:
1. Hidden in plain sight - References God's omnipresence throughout scripture.
2. Imbalanced emotions from false reality - Discusses how outward appearance can belie internal feelings, citing passages about countenances.
3. Revelation of the revelator revealed - Notes how Joseph and others were able to interpret dreams and reveal secrets, linking to divine revelation.
4. Godly evolution - Compares Joseph's role in salvation to Jesus bringing spiritual rebirth.
5. Responsibility of response for reliable journey - Uses the parable

ISA 11:9
God tells Jacob to return to Bethel and build an altar there. Jacob instructs his household to abandon foreign gods and purify themselves. They give Jacob their foreign idols and he buries them. At Bethel, Jacob builds an altar and God reaffirms His promises to Jacob, changing his name to Israel. Jacob sets up a stone pillar commemorating God speaking to him there and names the place Bethel.
The document discusses different Christian denominations' views on salvation - Baptist view salvation as by grace through faith alone, Catholic view works as justifying faith, Church of Christ view requires belief and baptism. It then examines how to properly interpret scripture by distinguishing between time periods - the "time past" focused on God's promises to Israel, while the "but now" includes Gentiles. During Jesus' ministry and Acts 1-7, the early church's message was directed to Israel to repent, but they fell so salvation could come to the Gentiles.
The document discusses seeking God and knowing Him. It provides numerous Bible verses encouraging people to seek God, know Him, find Him, turn to Him, and understand Him. The verses state that if people seek God with their whole heart, they will find Him and He will not forsake them. God searches people's hearts and wants them to know and serve Him. Those who know God and seek Him will not lack any good thing.
This document contains a summary of Jesus' teachings on forgiveness, fasting, and storing up treasures in heaven rather than on earth from the Gospels of Matthew and Mark. It also includes additional context and commentary from other biblical passages. The key points are:
1) Jesus teaches that forgiveness is necessary to receive forgiveness from God and that true fasting involves humble prayer rather than outward displays of piety.
2) Fasting is presented as a spiritual discipline that should be accompanied by righteous living, not just physical deprivation.
3) True treasures are spiritual rewards stored in heaven, not earthly possessions that can be lost or stolen. Believers are called to focus on eternal rather than temporal things.
The document discusses God's ownership and control over all things. It notes that God owns everything in heaven and earth, including wealth, natural resources, and people. It also asserts that God controls circumstances and uses them for good purposes, such as meeting people's needs and developing their character through discipline. The document encourages acknowledging God as the ultimate owner of everything and making financial decisions in light of this.
Covenants - Part 7 - Davidic - 25 March 2018 - Bruce McCallumGavin Brent
1. The document discusses the covenant God made with King David to establish his kingdom forever. This includes promises that David's throne and kingdom will be established forever, with one of his descendants reigning as king.
2. The document provides evidence from numerous biblical passages that Jesus is the fulfillment of this covenant as the descendant of David who would reign eternally as King. It traces Jesus's genealogy back to David and shows he will reign on David's throne forever.
3. The terms of the covenant with David, such as establishing David's kingdom and throne forever, are shown to be irrevocable and guaranteed by God's promise.

2. The document provides evidence from numerous biblical passages that Jesus is the fulfillment of this covenant as the descendant of David who would reign eternally as King. It establishes Jesus' lineage back to David and right to his throne.
3. The covenant with David includes promises that God will establish and protect David's kingdom permanently, that future kings will come from his lineage, and that the Davidic king will build God's temple.

The document describes a situation in the early Christian church where Greek-speaking widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. The twelve disciples appointed seven men, including Stephen, to oversee the distribution so that the disciples could focus on preaching. Stephen performed great signs and wonders but also encountered opposition from religious leaders. He was eventually falsely accused of blasphemy and brought before the Jewish high council, where he gave a speech defending his faith before being martyred.

This document contains several Bible passages that discuss witnessing and spreading the gospel. It begins with Jesus commanding his disciples to go and teach all nations. It then discusses how believers should commit what they have learned to faithful men to teach others. Several passages discuss spiritual warfare and resisting the devil. There are also passages about forgiveness, being fishers of men to spread the gospel, the road to salvation through belief and confession, God's love for the world in sending Jesus, and the victory belonging to God through salvation.

Ahaziah was anointed to be king of Judah at age 22 but did not sit on the throne until age 42. He was the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, but also considered the son-in-law of Ahab, king of Israel, through marriage to one of Ahab's daughters or Jehoram's daughters. There is evidence that Ahaziah had a joint reign with both Jehoshaphat and Ahab prior to becoming sole king of Judah due to the political alliances between their kingdoms.

Isaac grows old and his eyes dim, so he asks his son Esau to hunt venison so he can bless him before death. Rebekah overhears and tricks Isaac into blessing Jacob instead by disguising him as Esau. When Esau discovers this, he vows to kill Jacob after Isaac's death. Rebekah sends Jacob away to her brother Laban's house to avoid Esau's wrath until his anger subsides. The document examines themes of sight, struggle, and separation within the passage and concludes that true comfort comes through sanctification by the Holy Spirit rather than human schemes.
Isaac sowed crops and received a hundredfold return, prospering greatly with flocks, herds, and servants. However, the Philistines grew envious and stopped up wells dug by Isaac's father. Abimelech told Isaac to leave, so he moved and redug the wells, persevering despite opposition. Through patience, diligence, and recognizing God's blessings, Isaac retained prosperity and found peace at Rehoboth. The document examines the proper means to prosperity through effort, God's favor, enduring hardship patiently, and gratitude.

This document discusses the life of Isaac based on passages from the Bible. It is divided into three sections:
I. Leaving - Discussing Isaac after the death of his father Abraham.
II. Receiving - How God blessed Isaac after Abraham's death.
III. Residing - Mentions Isaac resided by the well Lahairoi, the same place where Hagar met an angel and where Isaac lived when he married Rebekah.
The document uses Isaac's life to draw parallels about having strength in times of loss and how God provides for those who trust in him.

The document discusses the importance and power of God's word as revealed in scripture. It notes that the disciples could relate their eyewitness experience of Jesus' transfiguration on the Mount because they had God's word in writing to back up their testimony. It then provides numerous Bible verses emphasizing that the word of God is perfect, eternal, a light, spirit, judge, saves souls, true, faithful, settled in heaven, should not be blasphemed, pure, and holy.
Rebekah is presented as a type of the Christian church in the Old Testament. Some key points:
1) Rebekah is a Gentile who marries Isaac, representing Christians (Gentiles) joining with Christ (promised seed).
2) She is called out of her homeland and family to follow Abraham's servant to marry Isaac, representing Christians being called out of the world.
3) She believes and follows in faith without seeing Isaac first, representing the Christian's faith in an unseen God.
4) She accepts the proposal brought to her by Abraham's servant, representing Christians accepting the offer of salvation brought by the Holy Spirit.
5) The gifts given to her fore
The document argues that the overturning of Roe v. Wade highlights the need to abstain from premarital sex or "fornication" as commanded in the Bible. It provides several biblical passages from Acts, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, and Revelation that prohibit fornication and command believers to abstain from it. The document claims abstaining from fornication, rather than defending abortion rights, should be the focus for Christians in light of the new ruling.
This document discusses how one can prove their love for God through desire, obedience, and commitment. It examines several Bible passages to support this. Specifically, it argues that love for God is shown through: 1) Craving His word and hiding it in one's heart to avoid sin; 2) Compliance with His commands, as Jesus complied with the Father's command to lay down His life; and 3) Commitment to watch, pray, and follow God's word at all times, as Jesus was committed to the Father's commandment. The document concludes by summarizing that love for God is proven through desire for His word, demonstration of obedience to His commands, and determined commitment to follow His word.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

1. David’s Change of
Command Ceremony
Text: 1Chr 28:10
Intro:
1Chr 23:1
1 So when David was old and full of days, he made
Solomon his son king over Israel.
In Chapter 23-27, David meets with the appropriate
leadership, to instruct and transfer authority to his son,
Solomon.
In Chapter 28-29, he has a formal, public change of
command ceremony.
1Chr 28:10 is a key statement in this address-
Take heed now;
for the LORD hath chosen thee
to build an house for the sanctuary:
be strong,
2. and do it.
I. Reproof- Take heed now…
1Chr 28:9
9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of
thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and
with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all
hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the
thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee;
but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for
ever.
David offering advice from experience.
Ps 139:1-3 1 O LORD, thou hast searched me, and
known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising,
thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and
art acquainted with all my ways.
Each generation is intended to build on the last;
not lay a new foundation and start the building
from scratch.
3. 1Cor 3:10 According to the grace of God which is
given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the
foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let
every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
Col 4:17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the
ministry which thou hast received in the Lord,
that thou fulfil it.
1Tim 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the
doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou
shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Titus 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and
rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise
thee.
1Chr 28:10
Take heed now;
for the LORD hath chosen thee
to build an house for the sanctuary:
be strong,
and do it.
II. Requirement- …be strong…
4. 1Chr 28:8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel
the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience
of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments
of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good
land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children
after you for ever.
1Chr 28:1-2 1 And David assembled all the princes
of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of
the companies that ministered to the king by course,
and the captains over the thousands, and captains
over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the
substance and possession of the king, and of his sons,
with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with
all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.
2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and
said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me,
I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the
ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool
of our God, and had made ready for the building:
An effort at his age.
1Kgs 1:1 Now king David was old and
stricken in years; and they covered him with
clothes, but he gat no heat.
5. Ps 71:15-16 15 My mouth shall shew forth thy
righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I
know not the numbers thereof.
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I
will make mention of thy righteousness, even of
thine only.
Matt 5:14-16 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city
that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a
bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto
all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may
see your good works, and glorify your Father which is
in heaven.
Phil 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the
sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a
crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye
shine as lights in the world;
1Chr 28:10
Take heed now;
for the LORD hath chosen thee
to build an house for the sanctuary:
6. be strong,
and do it.
III. Repetition- …and do it.
Jacob at the age of 147 and in poor health, no
doubt doesn’t feel strong.
Gen 48:2-3 2 And one told Jacob, and said, Behold,
thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel
strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.
3 And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty
appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and
blessed me,
God doesn’t waste a position it is his pleasure to
give you a job to do.
1Chr 28:4 Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me
before all the house of my father to be king over
Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the
ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my
father; and among the sons of my father he liked me
to make me king over all Israel:
Motivation to continue what David could not
finish.
7. 1Chr 28:2 Then David the king stood up upon his
feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people:
As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of
rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for
the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the
building:
Man, never gets so wise he doesn’t need God to
instruct him.
1Chr 28:7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for
ever, if he be constant to do my commandments
and my judgments, as at this day.
Conclusion: your change of command
ceremony-
John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the
world.
1Thess 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children
of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these
are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep
8. through thine own name those whom thou hast given me,
that they may be one, as we are.
John 17:17-19 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy
word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I
also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also
might be sanctified through the truth.
John 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son
of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he
said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said
unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that
I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
John 21:19 This spake he, signifying by what death he
should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith
unto him, Follow me.
