This is a presentation for the Social Media Research Class. We discuss the dark side of the Internet in this class session, including filter bubble, erosion of attention, cyber bully, etc. Of course, there are also a lot of good/amazing things about the Internet that we talked about in other sessions of the class.

3. • Echo Chamber existed before the
Internet.
• Maybe part of human nature? People do
not want to move out their comfort zone,
people like group/community/circle.
• We dream that Internet will solve this
problem by allowing people share
opinions.

Some day, online newspapers will focus on your
interests, building you your own unique,
customized front page of news. Some day, search
engines will learn from what you do to help you
find what you need. Some day, your computer will
adapt to your needs to help with the task at hand.
Some day, information overload will be tamed.

we are search something, and post the first link in chat? \n
