Manager-Rates & Traffic
 Establishing transport costs for both existing and potential customers, working closely with the senior
logistics and transport managers of major multi million dollar accounts.
 Costing existing accounts to determine if they are profitable.
 Maintaining the annual increase records and advise sales of the accounts which require an increase
in their transport rates.
 Negotiating rate agreements with transport partners. Continuously searching for new partners to
expand our services.
 Maintain and update the master tariff system.
 Developed a secondary tariff and cost system to deal with commodities of specific nature and
requirements.
 Implemented a proper productivity reporting system covering both volume and cost as they relate to
each other.
 Implemented an audit system to track the revenue versus cost for our line-haul moves throughout the
country.
 Implemented an audit system to track revenue and volumes for the major accounts.
 Implemented an audit system for the billing department to help them better understand the customers
and their requirements for billing & invoicing.
 Manage and train a staff of 5 people.
 Manage the day to day operations of the rates and traffic departments in two different cities.

 Worked directly with operations and sales, to establish a cost factor for these accounts.
 Worked on accounts that had generated sales revenues in excess of $1,000,000.00 per year.
 Assisted in the purchase of partner carrier by performing a study of their tariff and revenue structures.

Various Positions
 Started with this company as Warehouse Shift Foreman in Moncton, New Brunswick.
 I started in July of 1981 in the Rate Department, working the evening shift, putting the proper
transportation rates on the individual shipments.
 Over the next 8 years, through various promotions, I was made the Assistant Supervisor of the Rates
Department, in charge of the evening shift. I also was in charge of training all new staff coming into
the department.
 In May of 1989, I was promoted to work in the Maritime Regional Office as the new Traffic Analyst. I
reported directly to the Regional Traffic Manager. This is where I obtained all my experience and
knowledge of budgets, costs and cost structures.
 In October of 1992, in the restructuring of the company, I became the Pricing Officer in charge of the
Maritime Region. During the next 5 years, I had a hand in the development of most procedures, which
are still in use today, in the Pricing Department. The most significant development was, the cost
format structure that I had developed to speed up single and multiple lane costing.
