Senior Manager with EY in Singapore (November 2015 – present) 10 months, Singapore
Responsibilities
After having worked with EY in Malaysia for close to 8 years in my last role and with KPMG in Malaysia
as a corporate tax senior consultant very early on in my career, , I have moved to a part of EY Singapore
Transfer Pricing team starting November 2015.
My works in EY Singapore mainly involved the preparation of transfer pricing risk review, global
documentation (master and local file) and country by country report (CBCR) for multinational companies
headquartered in Singapore as a result of BEPS Action 13.
In addition to the above, my work with clients has involved preparation of regional/ global transfer
pricing planning/ documentation projects which I worked closely with other Ernst & Young offices such
as Japan, the United States, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Germany. My main role in these

projects is to manage engagement economics and communicate significant issues and fees to the
engagement teams and clients.

Senior Manager with EY in Malaysia (October 2014 – September 2015) - 1 year, Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia
Responsibilities
In my role as a Senior Manager with EY in Malaysia, I led and directed teams in delivering transfer
pricing solutions (transfer pricing documentation and transfer audit audit) to a large portfolio of clients. I
am also responsible for assisting partners with generating new business opportunities and building
client networks and relationships. During 2014/ 2015, I significantly exceeded engagement set targets by
over 30%. I have been initiating and driving the projects with the clients with minimal support from the
Partner. I have also presented to the client on our findings and discussed with the client on the potential
issues of their transfer pricing policy.
I have also been involved in assisting clients in leading and dealing the transfer pricing audits with the
Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (IRB) in the following three phrases: -
Phase 1 - Pre-audit phase: Meeting with the client prior to the field audit visit by the IRB to discuss on
transfer pricing audit process and plan probable issues, questions and documentation that may be
raised by the IRB during the field audit.
Phase 2 - Presence during the transfer pricing field audit: Acting as liaison between CMSB and the IRB
and, where possible, assisting the client in reviewing and responding to the queries raised by the IRB at
the field audit.
Phase 3 - Post transfer pricing audit: Liaising with IRB, preparing detailed technical analysis to
substantiate client’s transfer pricing positions, identifying and quantifying any potential transfer pricing
exposures or adjustments and working with clients to develop appropriate strategies for dealing with
those exposures; negotiating with the IRB to ensure that any potential transfer pricing adjustment,
interest charges and compliance penalties are either eliminated or minimised.
Achievements
- I was managed to assist my client to reduce the potential transfer pricing adjustment by more than
RM 1million after negotiating with the IRB.
- During 2014/ 2015, I significantly exceeded engagement set targets by over 30%.

Manager with EY in Malaysia (October 2011 – September 2014) 3 years, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
My responsibilities include the following:
Managing engagement teams for the preparation of transfer pricing documentation for a wide
range of transactions including sale and purchase of goods, intangible transactions such as royalty
and technical fees and provision of management services.
Assisting clients in dealing the transfer pricing audits with the IRB in the post-audit phase. This
experience includes liaising with IRB, preparing detailed technical analysis to substantiate client’s
transfer pricing positions, identifying and quantifying any potential transfer pricing exposures or
adjustments and working with clients to develop appropriate strategies for dealing with those
exposures; negotiating with the tax authority to ensure that any potential transfer pricing
adjustment, interest charges and compliance penalties are either eliminated or minimised.
Assisting partners with generating new business opportunities and building client networks and
relationships. Successfully leading the team in winning a group transfer pricing project (preparing 13
transfer pricing reports) for one of the largest companies in Malaysia.
Achievements
- I was managed to assist my client for not being picked up by the IRB for transfer pricing field audit
by preparing a transfer pricing analysis to commercially justify their three years loss making position.
- I was able to meet the year on year revenue target set by the firm during my role as a manager.
Senior associate with EY in Malaysia (November 2007 – September 2011) 4 years, Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia
My responsibilities include the following:
Conducting benchmarking studies across a broad spectrum of industries for varied markets. I
assisted the team to prepare these analysis and assisted with preparing parts of the transfer pricing
documentation (industry analysis, functional analysis etc.) to determine the arm’s length price to
comply with the Malaysian transfer pricing rules and guidelines.
Assisting engagement managers in dealing the transfer pricing audits with the IRB in the post-audit
phase. This experience includes preparing detailed technical analysis to substantiate client’s transfer
pricing position, quantifying any potential transfer pricing exposures or adjustment under the
guidance of the engagement managers.
