1) The patient was a 17-year-old female dancer who presented with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) in her left knee.
2) On initial examination, she exhibited weakness in her hip muscles especially her abductors and external rotators. She also demonstrated genu valgus collapse during exercises.
3) The physical therapy plan focused on strengthening her hip muscles using exercises like unilateral leg presses and monster walks to improve neuromuscular control and decrease stress on her knee. Correcting her lower extremity alignment was also emphasized.
