This document discusses two types of rainfall analysis curves: 1. Depth-Area-Duration (DAD) curves which are created by examining rainfall records, identifying severe storms, mapping rainfall contours, and plotting rainfall depths over areas for different durations. DAD curves can be used to determine rainfall depths for a catchment area if a severe storm was centered over it. 2. Intensity Duration Frequency (IDF) curves which involve frequency analysis of station rainfall data using extreme value distributions. The results are plotted on log-log paper and are used for design of infrastructure like bridges and culverts.
