Miloš Forman is a Czech-American director, screenwriter, and professor who emigrated from Czechoslovakia. He was born in 1932 in Czechoslovakia, where his parents were members of the anti-Nazi underground and both died in concentration camps during World War II. Forman directed several films in Czechoslovakia before leaving for the United States in 1968 following the Soviet-led invasion. In America, Forman directed acclaimed films like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Amadeus, winning two Oscars for Best Director.
