Jára Cimrman is considered the most popular imaginary Czech genius. The film is about his fascinating life. He was born to a poor family and due to financial difficulties, his parents told him he was a girl when he was young. As a result, he attended girls' school until he discovered his true gender. Cimrman was incredibly intelligent and inspired many famous artists and inventors, but all of his inventions were patented just minutes before by other inventors. He pursued many careers including teaching and writing plays, before mysteriously disappearing from a small village in 1914.
