 Information security
 Network security
 Disaster recovery / business continuity planning

5. Application security encompasses measures taken
throughout the code's life-cycle to prevent gaps in
the security policy of an application or the underlying
system (vulnerabilities) through flaws in the design,
development, deployment, upgrade, or maintenance or
database of the application.

6. The state of being protected against the unauthorized use of
information, especially electronic data, or the measures
taken to achieve this.

7. Network security consists of the policies and practices adopted to
prevent and monitor unauthorized access, misuse, modification, or
denial of a computer network and network-accessible resources.
Network security involves the authorization of access to data in a
network, which is controlled by the network administrator.

8. Disaster recovery (DR) involves a set of policies and procedures to
enable therecovery or continuation of vital technology infrastructure
and systems following a natural or human-induced disaster.

9. Operations Security, or OPSEC, is the process by which we protect
unclassified information that can be used against us. OPSEC challenges us
to look at ourselves through the eyes of an adversary (individuals,
groups, countries, organizations).

Educating the end user and eliminating the
biggest security risk

11. One of the most problematic elements of cybersecurity is
the quickly and constantly evolving nature of security risks.
The traditional approach has been to focus most resources
on the most crucial system components and protect against
the biggest known threats, which necessitated leaving some
less important system components undefended and some
less dangerous risks not protected against.

13. Avanzo Trust is an organization based in Kerala, India specialized in cyber
laws and cyber securities solutions with nearly 7 years of experience. We
have taken this initiative in the context of increasing criminal activities
and deceits using the wide reach of cyber world following the
proliferation of broadband and subsequent use of internet over cell
phones as well as other web enabled equipment all over the country.

14. Our campaign for prevention of cyber-crimes intends to give
guidelines in handling issues related to the misuse of cell
phones and internet.

15. We at Avanzo are dedicated to educate the general public
especially the adolescent and youth the possible
vulnerabilities in the usage of mobile phones, internet and
social networking sites.

17. The trust is the brain child of Dr. Pattathil Dhanya Menon, a cyber crime
investigator by profession and managing trustee of the same. She is the
first woman participant in international cybercrime seminars from India
and has won accolades for presenting the paper “Human rights in cyber
space”.

18. CAP envisages a specially designed course for the students in
India keeping in mind the aim of cyber awareness from a
very tender age.
The program modules are developed in such a way that the
learning is imbibed through activities.
By creating a set of modules, the program will work with
school teachers and students through in-service training in
schools.

19. This training is in order to develop educational techniques
and resources that will enable the new generation to make
use of technology with a constructive, ethical, empathetic
and sensitive vision.
