SYNOPSIS
An astute professional with over 35 years of experience in FGPSO/FSO/Vessel
Operations, Relationship Management & Man Management.
Presently working on a FSO as Offshore Installation Manager on FSO Suksan Salamande in Gulf
of Thailand.
I was involved in Conversion, Commissioning and start up of FSO Pattani Spirit ( 2003-2004) at
Singapore and startup at Thailand, FPSO Cidade De Sao Mateous ( 2008-2010) at Singapore
and startup at Brazil ,Conversion of North sea Shuttle tanker to FSO Falocon Spirit (2010-2012) for
Oxy at Dubai and Startup at Al Morjan Oil Field Offshore Qatar, Conversion of North Sea shuttle
Tanker to FSO Suksan Salamander for Salmander Energy at China Yard( 2014) and startup at
Gulf of Thailand
Previously , I was with PROSAFE PRODUCTION LLC since sept 2008 as Master / OIM on a
Biggest FGPSO. I have been involved with the conversion / commissioning / sailing / hook up /
start up Production of one of the biggest and complex FGPSO project for Petrobras. Sailed the
VLCC/FGPSO from Singapore Keppel shipyard as Master to Brazil and passed the initial
acceptance inspection by local Navy (DPC)and Petrobras without any deficiency. FGPSO is
spread moored off Vitoria and commenced production of in June 2009.
During this period successfully carried out various upgrade including preparing modification plan
for water injection system for FSO, FW water Distillation system, crane upgrade and Training of
crew for mooring boat operations. Also Training and supervision of STS and Tandem Mooring
operation, Planning and operation of Bow Turret system, on line sampling and cargo quality and
API testing. Planning special surveys and hull inspection (in lieu of Drydock), under MODU
code. Safety and other operation requirement including arranging logistics and movement of
supply boats and stores.
Earlier I have sailed as Master world wide for over 15 years with Teekay Tankers, Smedvig
Tankships on oil tankers and OBO’s.
In Past associated as Master with Teekay Shipping (Canada) Ltd., Vancouver.
Experienced in handling a wide range of activities including supervision of maintenance
& repairs of a wide spectrum of shipboard machinery & utilities, safety & welfare of on
board personnel & managing safe transportation of assets .
 In-depth knowledge of HSEQ policies & implementing the same.
 Adept at imparting necessary training & motivation to the ships complement & improving
performance on these aspects.
Skilful in enhancing systems to bring greater cost efficiency levels & energy / power
reductions.
Deft at conducting Internal & External Audits as per ISM, ISO 9000, ISO 14001 & OHSAS
18001 and ensuring compliance to said quality standards & maintaining all related
documentations as well as Risk Management.

Key Deliverables
Operations Management
 Manage Marine Operations on crude oil process and storage facility offshore; ensuring all
certification in Liaison with the Flag State and International requirements.
 Manage Shipboard Operations with focus on devising policies and procedures; ensuring
optimum performance of the Crew, Scientific Staff, Ship and Scientific Equipment.
 Handle diverse tasks encompassing Navigation, management and documentation of the
SMS; implementation of corrective action for non conformances.
 Oversee the implementation and control of Shipboard activities relating to shipboard
emergencies and environmental protection; ensure pollution free operation of the Ship.
 Ensure that all controlled documents on board are up to date and that the Vessel has valid
certificates for voyages.
Maintenance Management
 Manage troubleshooting and preventive / breakdown maintenance of Machines, Equipment
& Utilities for reducing machinery downtime to minimum.
 Prepare ships for Internal and External Audits to comply with Class & International
Regulations.
 Investigate and report non-conformities, accidents, near-misses and hazardous situations to
the Head Office.
 Oversee repair & overhaul of ship machinery at dry docks.
 Expeience on AMOS, RAST and MAXIMO Maintenance system
Quality, Environment & Safety
 Ensure compliance with quality standards like 14000 and 9000 Series.
 Train personnel on Safety (Fire Fighting & Life Saving) and Environment Programs, ensure
adherence so as to execute operations as per set environmental stipulations.
Commercial Operations
 Coordinate with Officers, Agents and the Terminal in completing Cargo operations within the
defined time period and sailing the vessel out of the Port with the least wastage of time.
 Effectively sort out problems of Shipping and Documentation on board and in increasing the
Ship’s output to maximum possible safe levels, by applying knowledge gained in Chartered
Shipbroking.
 Assist Shore based Planners with loading the ship to its maximum capacity in compliance
with all International Regulations.
Team Management

3.  Interface with the Human Resource Dept at the Head Office for recruitment, development,
training and promotion of Junior Officers and Ratings.
 Manage a team of cross cultural Crew on board; assign special duties to the crew.
 Mentor and motivate the Crew in enhancing their performance standards and in running the
Vessel to the high standards of the Company.

start up of this FSO. I was in Dubai for about 3 months during conversion of North sea
Shuttle tanker to FSO for Oxy.
 Successfully implemented & monitored SCOPE on board (an initiative of TK with DNV for
improvement in seafarers’ competency) along with initial implementation audit.
 Effectively attended Shipyard for delivery of ships.

Prosafe Production Services , Singapore ( July’08- Nov’09)
 Worked with Prosafe Production in Singapore as Dy OIM/ Marine & Safety Supdt / Master for
New Gas & Oil FPSO Project for Petrobras from July’08 to Nov’09 ( about 18 months). I was
again involved in construction, commissioning and start up of the biggest Gas and Oil
FPSO for Brazil.

 This was again New Project and I was involved with Construction, Commissioning and

Involved in conversion / commissioning of FSO at Singapore yard and in gulf of Thailand
for reputed Oil Major and worked as Off shore Installation Manager for 3.5 years on same
FSO (Jan2004 to Nov 2007). During this period successfully carried out various upgrade
