Space Master is a cross-disciplinary program that includes laboratory and computer simulation

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Projects Participant on the BEXUS - "Balloon EXperiments for University Students" as head communications
specialist in the COUGAR Team. Communications area includes: data link, data control, position and
navigation, image processing, etc. Personally develop a full Ground Station environment and
communication control system.
The REXUS/BEXUS programme is realized under a bilateral Agency Agreement between the
German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Board (SNSB). The Swedish
share of the payload has been made available to students from other European countries through a
collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).

The technical objective of the experiment is to control an unmanned ground vehicle from a ground
station via a balloon. In our experiment we will demonstrate that such a command and control link can
be achieved even if there is no direct line-of-sight between the ground station and the object to be
controlled. The experiment will help in validating communication between multiple platforms on extra-
terrestrial surfaces using moving intermediate relay stations (like balloons) where direct
communication is not possible.
