Short Story
From the time he was born, to when he spent his boyhood on
the streets of Cairo selling lemons, and into his adulthood,
Ahmed lived in an Egypt run by a dictator wearing the mask of a
president. In 2010, he would be one of the thousands of voices
to rise and demand for change in his nation.
Specific Detail/Specific Statistic
In July 2013, Egyptians organized the largest protest in human

Quotation
“We won’t know if this revolution has succeeded for decades.
There is no way in which the goals of this revolution; bread,
freedom, and social dignity, can be achieved…But what you can
do is lay the ground for them to actually happen.”

Sample Introduction
In July 2013, Egyptians organized the largest protest in human
history with an estimated 30 million people taking to the streets
demanding the resignation of the President Morsi and his
government run by the Muslim Brotherhood. 30 million voices calling
for continued change and a government that would not guide their
country based on the teachings of a religion, but rather on the will of
the people. A year later, they elected President El-Sisi to be the
guiding figure in their nation’s return to stability and a brighter future.
While El-Sisi has a checkered past and has been criticized for his
violations of human rights at times, he still provides a stabilizing
force and potential ally to the United States in a part of the world
that has seemingly been changing on a weekly basis and
threatening international security. The United States should provide
President El-Sisi’s regime with military aid because he was elected
through a democratic process, he provides economic stability in a
key region, and is a committed ally to the United States’ fight against
radical Islamic terrorist groups in the region.

Conclusion
Restate your Position in a new Way
Close with a Recommendation to help solve your issue.
While El-Sisi may not be the perfect leader who embodies the
progressive values which so many have taken to the street to
secure, he is a figure that will bring security and stability back to a
region that desperately needs it. The world is filled with threats to
basic human rights and dignity, but those posed by El-Sisi and
his government are paled by those of the radical Islamic groups
such as ISIS. El-Sisi presents an opportunity for the United
States to gain a strong advantage in the form of an ally in the
fight against ISIS and international terrorism. It is thus essential
that the United States continues its financial and military
commitment to Egypt as it helps in the fight to create a safer and
more secure Middle East and World.
