2. Our goals
1. Manage 350+ digital learning objects in English and
Welsh
2. Maintain a continuous improvement cycle
3. Ensure learning materials are student-led
3. 1. Management: SharePoint inventory
Title, type and topic area Department, owner Review dates Location / storage of source files
4. 2. Continuous
improvement
Owners receive:
• Automated reminder notification via email
from 30 days ahead of the next update
• Followed by weekly reminders until they
check the resource and change the date
• Updates on any specific feedback
Monthly Google Analytics and YouTube reports to
monitor engagement
5. 3. Student-led:
co-creation
Co-creation with student champions on
major new learning resources and those
needing re-development
Also:
• User experience (UX) activities
• Crowd-sourcing of content
• Presenting in resources
• Reviewing prototypes

6. 3. Student-
led: feedback
Captured via Google Forms
embedded in each online tutorial
Monitored weekly for feedback and
suggestions
Amendments made or sent to
‘owners’ for consideration
Respond to student if they leave
their email
7. 3. Using the feedback:
enhancing provision
Since introducing the form in August 2021, we
have received 22,500+ responses
Large majority are positive but there are also
useful suggestions for improvement
Can lead to simple tweaks or identification of
wider trends in student requirements
‘Welcome to the Library’ induction:
Avoiding plagiarism tutorial:
“Very informative but not very
interactive”
Embedded mini quizzes at the end of
each section
“Useful but more videos and less text
would be helpful”
“…more examples…”
Added student-led video and
increased opportunities to practise
8. 3. Using the feedback:
decision making
Quarterly summary reports of feedback and engagement
presented and discussed at Education Programme Board
Examples of responses
• Promotional campaigns targeted to low use
resources
• Focus attention on high use learning objects
when needed e.g. testing, UX
• Investigate resources with lower ratings to see if
improvements can be made
9. Future
developments?
Little opportunity to close feedback loop directly
unless students leave their contact details –
identify ways to provide ‘you said, we did’
feedback
Create a better join between the SharePoint
Inventory and our student/staff facing platforms
e.g. can we create a web layer?
